Re: Pink Floyd at Live 8

Have to admit I had a lump in my throat while watching it.

Although the MTV fekkers cut off the last of the CN outro solo, at least they got most of it. TGFSM.

Exclamation Well, what did we think about PF on Live8?

After all those years, at last the other fab-four live on stage together.
For me, the first thought was: ****, Gilmour is getting old. Very old. After 10 seconds I found out that it didn't matter. Absolutely great! I plenged a tear (or two or three, I don't remember) and got the Floydian-vibe all over me. It was worth waiting for. I got a very good feeling about this when I saw Mason close his eyes during CN 'cause he was enjoying himself so much. Absolutely the gig of the day and I could go on for pages and pages, but that is not the meaning of a forum, is it. Just hoping this is leading to something more beautiful like a tour or so.

Re: They Are On Now

Dave just said his usual "Thank you very much, goodnight!" then they had a bit of a hug and left. Who know's what the future may hold.

Re: Pink Floyd at Live 8

That was my first time ever seeing Floyd in concert too. It felt like I was watching a floyd tour rather than a concert of various artists. They totally owned that stage. They owned the crowd. They owned the whole fucking world!!!

Absolutely incredible. I had been waiting for this for so many years, like several of you, and it was plainly fantastic! More comments as I recompose myself.

It was mindblowing. Damn those fools who said it wasn't gonna be a good show.

Re: Pink Floyd at Live 8

Hi, all. Long-time lurker signing on. Hope you'll welcome me and my words to the APFFN.

Well, I haven't had chills running up and down my spine like that since my first show, on the DSOTM tour here in San Diego all those years ago.

One word: wonderful. Just seeing Roger up with those guys again literally brought a tear to my eye. Even though David looked pretty tense through "Breathe" and "Money," I actually caught a glimpse of him smiling later, and Waters was undeniably stoked from the first note.

But WHO IN THE H*LL is the idiot producer at MTV Networks who figured it'd be a great idea to interrupt this thing so those two mooks could yakk about how wonderful this reunion was ? Yeah...so great you're freakin WRECKIN' the end...bunch a fargin' iceholes. Unbelievable. And THEN, they cut to a commercial before the end of the set. I hear there were going to be fireworks...sigh.

I swear on all that is holy I'll NEVER again watch a second of ANY MTV-related channel...ever.

Sorry for the rant for my initial post here, but I'd guess there are others who'd agree.

;^)

Re: Well, what did we think about PF on Live8?

Hah, I even heard the "joke" of Jonathan, asking himself if they could hold a guitar for 15 minutes.........
Shall we all gather somewhere to hold hands?
