| Re: Well, what did we think about PF on Live8? I'm very pleased to notice that so many people from different countries were doing everything to see or hear the gig. Thanx for the download, and don't worry, I will tell nobody about this (...) It's the morning after the night before and I'm still in awe. Watched it yesterday all by myself, in the middle of the room, lights out and the TV-set on 100. I thought David sounded just the way he should be, a little bit tragic but on the note and even the high ones came out great! Compared to the other "great" performers it was a staggering life one and sounded very much like expected. Roger was excited during his play, David was acting like he always do when live-performing. To save the link, you rightclick on it and go to "save target as". Then you can choose where to put it.

| Re: Well, what did we think about PF on Live8? I wonder if any of the members of PF are reading this posts. I just watched the AOL-coverage (Thanx again!) and still see four guys entertaining themselves, and yes, I.m crying again. The few shots towards the audience brings back memories. Saw a lot of people who were in trance. Damn, I'm jalous..........

| Re: Well, what did we think about PF on Live8? I queued all day to get a ticket to the Screen section in Hyde Park, I wouldnt have missed it for the world. The whole day was superb, but for me it was really a 10 hour wait for you know who.......hanging on in quiet desperation. I sang every word from start to end, felt every note. it was so moving for me. It made me feel elated seeing people around me singing too, of all different ages and from all round the world. PInk Floyd are in a league of their own. I can't believe what i am reading about MTV's coverage, but i guess it is a shambolic channel, so they were just doing what they do. I really feel for the people waiting for their spine to tingle as the CN solo kicks in..and for that to happen. Shouts of "Nooooooooooo!" emanating from households around the globe. Absolutely Incredible. One final swipe though - Mariah Carey - what the feck was she doing there? To all the people in the US, please can you keep her over your side of the water. Referring to her stage hand..."This girl gives a great massage" she said to the crowd. Very profound. Jesus. She is also in a league of her own. Anyway, thanks PF for giving us a night to remember - any change of a tour? |

| Re: Well, what did we think about PF on Live8? Isn't Mariah Carey the same bimbo who said the famous words:"I would love to live in Africa, then I would be just as tanned and slim as them......" She's been quoted and awarded for the most stupid frase ever in an interview. I'll rest my case. Besides, you were one lucky bastard to be present there.......

6 months ago if you had stopped me and said, "Hey, give me a list of the top 5 things that will never, ever happen, at least in your lifetime!" 1. I will never be a millionaire 2. I will never see the end of the world. 3. I will never see the U.S. finally implode and fall 4. Pink Floyd will never play again. 5. Roger Waters will never join Pink Floyd again. 6. I will never play guitar like David Gilmour. 2 down... Now I'm having to rethink my entire attitude towards life. Replace 4 with "Pink Floyd will never tour again", and replace 5 with "Roger Waters will never tour with Pink Floyd again." Something as "simple" as Floyd playing with Waters again gives me a far different outlook on my entire world. Call me an ubergeek, nerd of a Floyd fan, but isn't that why we all found a privately owned Floyd-fan site and adhered ourselves to it? A simple, 4-song-set for the boys, and a message to all us sarcastic cynics who denied it until it actually happened. Treasure it indeed.

| Re: Well, what did we think about PF on Live8? Vote for who was the best act.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/thelive8e...te/index.shtml Don't you just love justice? As I was watching the live feed last night I was just thinking of the many people watching out there across the world who only know Pink Floyd as a weird possibly slightly gay sounding name, watching these now old musicians come up out of nowhere to remind them that there exists better music out there.... But then I remembered that actually, it will just be lost on 99.999% of them... but maybe a few brave and lucky young souls will wake up today and decide to do something odd - maybe an internet search for "Pink Floyd"? ![]() |

| Re: Well, what did we think about PF on Live8? Thanx, on http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/thelive8e...te/index.shtml you can tell how much Pink Floyd is still alive. Almost 1/3 of each vote goes to PF. So, I think that worldwide Pf was expected to be the main event for the day, regardless all the other major bands who were contributing. Got to make you feel good, isn't it.......

| Re: Well, what did we think about PF on Live8? I noticed some neat trivia from the day too.... 1) The show opened with "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band" which was recorded at the same time and in the same studio as "Pipers at the Gates of Dawn". 2) This was the first time the orginal lineup of Pink Floyd performed Comfortably Numb outside of a performance of "The Wall" 3) (I may have this one wrong but....) There was one member of Pink Floyd that wasn't at the show that has been at every Pink Floyd show since 1972.... "Mr. Screen" the big circular screen was not there. As for the guitar... I noticed that it had something odd behind the bridge too. I never knew if David used a Floyd Rose or not but considering he has had that guitar since Dark Side was recorded, I wouldn't put it past him to have done all sorts of things with that guitar. (It certainly has a new neck installed) |

| Re: Well, what did we think about PF on Live8? It isnt a floyd rose. Thats clear. Its a standard vintage bridge. There is some sort marking behind it. Dont know what that is. |
