On the BBC they cut to a shot of the London Eye it looked exactly like the circular screen for a second I thought it was.... it was probally coincidental but a nice touch all the same |

| Re: Well, what did we think about PF on Live8? Well they just showed the highlights from the whole thing, and I got to see Wish you were here. I bawled my eyes out like you wouldn't believe, especially when Roger mentioned Syd. Also, did anyone else cry like there's no tomorrow when they brought out that African girl they managed to save the last time around, just before Mads came on and sang Like a Prayer. I cried so so so much. It was just amazing, seeing Floyd like that again, they looked HAPPY to be together, who ever would have thought. This was officially one of the greatest moments in music history, and if it does have the effect we hope it does, it will be one of the greatest moments in history full stop. I'm still so incredibly emotional.. sigh.. and a few days ago I lost my "make poverty history" band. Me thinks I should go get a new one tomorrow, yes, I think I will. cheers

I couldn"t help seeing the same. I think the director did it on purpose to let the London Eye get so closed-up. He knows his music-history I guess. That's maybe the only thing i really missed yesterday, a great stage. On the moment I didn't think about it for one second, it was that great and unique.... (also the shot on the 4 pipes wasn't an accident)

| From http://www.msn.co.uk/pidl/95771572/floyd_big1.jpg ![]() ...Obviously during Comf Numb. And I agree re Rick Wright - I didn't see him at all during Breath, I was worried he wasn't even onstage! I'm off to see it again (BBC1 in the UK had the entire performance uncut) my first impression was the same as the other guy on here - Gilmour wasn't too forward in sharing Waters enthusiam -- so I won't be saving up for a reunion tour ticket just yet |

| Re: Pink Floyd Performance at Live 8 Gilmour was just as enthusiastic as on PULSE, just the way he performs I guess.

| Re: Pink Floyd Performance at Live 8 He has to concentrate. After all he is doing most of the high singing, doing a lot of guitar work and controlling all his pedals. |

Good point. For instance, at the beginning of Breathe, where he is playing the lap steel, then has to jump up and strap on his guitar, then run to the mike to start singing and playing guitar all within a few seconds. I'm certain Dave was just as amped as Roger.

OK, he didn't "run", but he had no time for photo ops with Roger.

Thanks for showing off your knowledge, but I think Dave could use just about any guitar and it would still sound good. |
