Battersea Power Station on Live 8?

So I stupidly forgot to record Live 8 on my DVR (tivo like box) but was able to record the second condensed showing where they only showed one Floyd song.

I've been waiting for that aol site to post the specific sets, but that isn't the reason for my post.

Partially through Money, the camera cuts to a dark almost silhouette of a building that instantly gave me the impression of Battersea Power Station (the building on the cover of Animals). I've never been to London so I can't be sure.

The cameraman is zoomed is close to this building with 4 chimneys and then pulls back showing the stage and crowd. I looked at google maps and Hyde Park and Battersea Power Station aren't all that far apart it appears, but perhaps too far for that shot.

Can someone confirm or deny this for me? the building was behind and to the right of the stage.

*update* got that aol live feed and it REALLY looks like Battersea Power on that.

That's pretty cool - I didn't realise I was looking at Battersea Power Station but that night camera work when Floyd came on was beautiful and perfectly timed with the music. That camerman, whoever it was, clearly knows his stuff.

Unlike the lamers who decided that zooming in to Ricky once in the whole set was enough, probably they thought he was a backing musician.

I got chills up and down my spine when I saw that. It was right before Gilmour's solo in "Money" I believe.

... and there was also a pig floating through the audience. Although it was miniscule compared to "Algie".

Re: Battersea Power Station on Live 8?

I'm sorry, but this really is a DDT of sorts, you may as well have asked this question in this Pink Floyd performance at Live 8 thread..

I'm gonna leave this open but please take the time to read the sticky thread at the top of this page and please post no more Live 8 threads.

thank you
Lejla
