Live 8 experiences

Did anyone actually go to live 8 besides me? Seeing pink floyd was literally one of the greatest experiences in my life. Nice build up with an incredible set from the who which greatly surpassed everyone before them. Despite this they did not touch Floyd. Eagerly anticipating there appearence suddenly the lights dropped and then the heartbeat started. Despite not playing together for 20 years they were jsut as fresh as they were in pompeii in 72!

Re: Live 8 experiences

I'm so sad I was not able to be in London last night, and I envy everyone who were there! But still I am so happy that I was able to see those handsome men back togehter again! I was so fantastic to see and hear them and tears of joy were running down my face.

And what a show! Of all the bleeding heart and artists, the were the greatest! As they always have been....

I really hope that they had a really good time, and that they felt all the love and happiness from all the fans around the globe. We don't need anything more for Christmas this year!

But if they would like to do a bit of recording... I don't mind!

Greetings also to our Dear Sir Bob "Pink" Geldof. Nice touch that Pink (from the movie) was the one person that could bring them toghether again, and maybe tear down that wall....

But of course, it's the Live8 cause that made everything happen last night, and I really hope that those 8 men in 1 room got the message and are prepared to "do it".

Make poverty history.

Happy greetings once again,

and Shine on!

Re: Live 8 experiences

I was backstage at the Canadian concert in Barrie, working security by the artists' trailers. The next best thing to being in London: watching the Floyd's set on live TV, during my break, RIGHT NEXT TO BOB EZRIN!

Re: Live 8 experiences

Seeing Floyd again was unreal however is it just me or did Gilmour seem a little unhappy during the event?. I really hope this event can lead to the possibillity of something greater for Waters and Floyd.

Question Re: Live 8 experiences

I doubt we'll see RW rejoin PF. But a "PF tour with special guest: RW" may be possible.

There is so much good music they could play even if they left the top ten usual songs off the list. Small venues where they play stuff off OBC, More, SOS, Piper, etc... Sort of like the DG in Concert show.....

Yes he did, and Waters TOO euphoric! I don't think they'll tour again... But I hope I'm wrong!

It was good, there's no denying... but I kinda thought Annie Lennox was better.

Sorry!

Re: Live 8 experiences

Well, I think you'd better get your head checked, Fixxy. No way was Annie Lennox (though very good) better than the Floyd. The more time I spend with you, the more I believe you are a fascist pig.

Highlights (besides the obvious):

Madonna
Robbie Williams (it pains me to admit that)
Annie Lennox
Keane
Velvet Revolver
Snoop Dog

Shite:
Mariah Carey
Scissor Sisters
Mariah Carey
Scissor Sisters

I prefer to think of you as Simple Minds to my Echo and The Bunnymen.

I think you might have missed out Mariah Carey and the Scissor Sisters? As for the old boy thinking Annie Lennox was better than Floyd...he might have 'cat scratch fever'? The vet should fix him up no probs!

The Scissor Sisters were ace and Eddy will fight anyone who says otherwise.
