Hmm...that's very interesting, considering the funny, rather sour note the singer hits at one point, when he tries to hit a note that might be a bit too high. Perhaps one of the "vocal" tracks is real...?

OK, I asked Wrightkeys in "his" thread! We'll see what happens! (It could be either, or both!)

I'm not sure about it, but the Pink Floyd Encyclopedia says that both David and Rick sing in A Saucerful of Secrets. No specifics on where in the song or what, though.

WEll Wrightkeys Said also said that it were rick & dave, but he also said that there were Mellotron Strings on this Track. However, he said There is a posibility that It wasn't Dave and Rick but Rather a REAL Choir.
But as you said, Radiochair, The Pink Floyd Encyclopedia Confirms the first posibility.

Now let's see PF Songs with mellotron:

Saucerful of secrets
Atom Heart Mother Suite
Sysyphus

Anyone cares to add More?

The Pompeii version of SFoS is just plain awesome. Every aspect of it, not just the Celestial Voices segment. If anyone HASN'T heard it, do yourself a favor and check it out. Its live without a crowd. Pure Floyd at its best. Later.

Although it's just the Celestial Voices portion of ASoS, the bit from PF's concert in Concertgebouw 1969 is by far the most spectacular version of CV. You've got Dave singing and Rick across the street jamming on the local cathedral's organ. Outstanding.

Is that the same concert with "The Man and the Journey"? If so, then I have that. So it IS a real cathedral organ!!!

BEAUTIFUL!

Ahhh, I just appreciate the talents of Mr. Wright even more whenever I hear that version...

Definately, the Pompeii version is a lot better. I don't really care for either studio versions of "A Saucerful Of Secrets" and "Careful With That Axe, Eugene." I much prefer the Pompeii and Ummagumma versions for both, but I do agree that "Come In Number 51, Your Time Is Up" is cool too.
