Let's cast a vote on a crucial Issue

Which "Celestial Voices" version do you Prefer?
the one on The "Saucerful of Secrets" Album with the mellotron Choir, or the Live in Pompeii Version with Dave singing the Choir Part?

Although I totally dig them both, there is NO QUESTION TO THE MATTER. THE POMPEII VERSION WINS BIG!

Of course, there's always the UMMAGUMMA version, and various Bootlegs like
"Live In Montreux 1971","A Trick Of The Light", "Interstellar Encore", and so on...

So there you go fokes, take your pick at the poll!

Although "A Saucerful of Secrets" was never broken down into parts on the album, I like the "Celestial Voices" version on "'Pompeii" and "Ummagumma."

I fully agree.

Here's one for you: Which is better Careful with that Axe, Eugene or Come in No.51, your time is up.

I'm inclined to think Come in... is a much, much better version - particularly the keyboard sound.

Well there ya Go, an UMMAGUMMA Version pick.
I think It's Highly legitimate.
But I'll have to stay with my Choice of The Pompeii Version...

and Slick Brocilli, if you want to discuss various versions of Careful with that Axe Eugene, I welcome it. But please start A Thread of your Own!

Tell me...who do you think is singing on the album version?

My first instinct told me one thing...unfortunately, I don't think I put the right thing on my website.

Who do YOU think it is?

(Hint--compare it to both the singing on Ummagumma...and the high harmonies on "See-Saw"...yes, I AM making you get that out. If you don't like it, it WILL grow on you--I promise. There's real beauty there...imagine backstroking down a peaceful river.)

As for asting a vote--I'd better not. I think there's a chance that I might give a biased answer, if I'm right!

FloydWaters:
The singing on celestial Voices on the Saucerful of Secrets album is simply a Mellotron Choir keys, Dummie!

NP: Jethro Tull - Hunt by Numbers.
