Rate/Rank All of Floyd's albums

1. Dark Side of The Moon - 10/10 I hate The Great Gig In The Sky, but, besides On The Run which is very good but not great, every other song on here is just about perfect. The three mini-epics (Time, Money, Us & Them) are three of Floyd's best songs and they are probably better than the three epics on Animals (Dogs, Pigs (Three Different Ones), Sheep).

2. Animals - 10/10 Every song on here is a 10/10 - the only reason why I prefer Dark Side is because Time, Money, Us & Them > Dogs, Pigs, Sheep, plus Dark Side also has Brain Damage/Eclipse, Any Colour You Like, and Breathe.

3. WYWH - 10/10 Nearly as good as Animals, and it was really a tough choice between the two. SoYCD is probably my second favorite Floyd song after Echoes, and WYWH and Have a Cigar are also fantastic. The fact that Welcome To The Machine is merely "good" makes Animals slightly better though.

4. Meddle - 10/10 Contains not just my favorite Floyd song. but my favorite song of all time, "Echoes". Many Floyd fans hate Seamus, but I find it kind of funny and rather harmless, since it's only two minutes long. Fearless, San Tropez, and A Pillow of Winds are excellent songs, as is One of These Days.

5. More - 10/10 An excellent and truly underrated gem.

6. Atom Heart Mother - 9.5/10 It was close between this and Obscured By Clouds, but I slightly prefer this album. All the songs are great with AHM and If being the highlights.

7. Obscured By Clouds - 9.5/10 Great and underrated and the only reason it isn't ranked higher than AHM is because of "Absolutely Curtains".

8. The Final Cut - 9.4/10 Seems to get unfairly bashed because of the fact that it is basically a Waters solo album; I however, like it better than The Wall.

9. A Sauceful of Secrets - 9.2/10 Insanely underrated in my opinion and superior to Piper.

10. The Wall - 9.2/10 When it's excellent it sure as hell is excellent (Comfortably Numb, Hey You, Mother, In The Flesh), but it has a bit too much filler to be any higher on the list.

11. Piper At The Gates of Dawn - 8.7/10 Has many great songs, but also has three average songs that drag it down, Pow R. Toc H., Scarecrow, and Bike.

12. The Division Bell - 8.7/10 I really need to listen to this album again, and probably should have before I posted this. Oh well....

13. Momentary Lapse of Reason - 8/10 A pretty good album....not much more I can say.

14. Ummagumma - 7.8/10 (My rating refers to the studio half only, you can include the live half if you want) I like this album a lot less than my rating would imply, and at times it is just downright boring. Still it is a good album.

Re: Rate/Rank All of Floyd's albums

ok here I go

PATGOD - 10/10 I'm a big Syd fan, love the album, all the songs are great. From astronomy to bike, this album is pure greatness.

ASOS - 10/10 great great great, the only song I don't think is excellent on this album is see saw.

More - 6/10 this album's kinda boring. The only song I really really like on it is cymbaline.

Ummagumma - 8/10 haha, everyone I know hates this album. I actually really like it, the live part is awesome.

AHM - 9/10 title track is wonderful, just like the following 3. I'm not very fond of APB.

Meddle - 10/10 contains echoes, my favorite Floyd song. no complains about the rest.

OBC - 8/10 great album to listen to at any time of the day or night. wots...uh the deal always brigthens my day.

DSoTM - 10/10 I'm listenning to it right now and I still can't believe how great it is.

WYWH - 10/10 I've run out of words to explain how great every Floyd album is...so once again, great album, great music, great(and sad) lyrics.

Animals - 10/10 favorite pink floyd album. no need to say more.

The Wall - 10/10 like a lot of people, it's the first album that got me into pink floyd and still after all these years I love it just like the first time.

TFC - 7/10 took me a while to like that one...it has some good stuff on it.

as for aMLOR and TDB well I can't really rate them because...I try, you know, I try really hard to appreciate them, but...it doesn't seem to work. But there's still hope because it has moved from me finding them horrible, annoying and not good at all to "kinda allright".

Re: Rate/Rank All of Floyd's albums

> the division bell - 7/10 the lyrics are substandard, but at least half of the songs r good
> AMLOR - 5/10 meh, this is a "pseudo-floyd" CD to me, I do like ' turning away '
& ' terminal frost ' but I don't even have a copy of the album anymore
> is there anybody out there? - 10/10 this is a better + more complete version of ' the wall '
> TFC / the wall - 10/10 final cut is very underrated
> animals - 10/10 ' dogs ' & ' sheep ' are masterwerks; water's "primal scream" period
> wish you were here - 10/10 this is a real band album w/ a very effective concept & stellar musical arrangements
> DSOTM - 8/10 this release is slightly overrated to me but still classic, enough of that ' breathe ' theme/reprise
> obscured by clouds - 9/10 I like the atmosphere on this one
> meddle - 10/10 ' echoes ' is the apex of everything the band ever did
> atom heart mother - 8/10 ' psychedelic b-fast ' is filler material but the rest is quite good
> more - 7/10 some filler material, good for sndtrk album
> ummagumma - 7/10 ' narrow way ' & ' grantchester meadows ' are worth the price of admission alone
> TPATGOD / ASOS - 8/10 piper is probably better song for song but ASOS is important when paired w/ debut release in the sense that both records served as blueprints for the developing floyd in shaping their sound & approach
