Pink Floyd in 2005

Hello, I too am new to this forum, but not at all new to the incredible magic that is Pink Floyd's music. I first discovered this band in 1975, at the tender age of ten. "Wish You Were Here" was just out.

Now, today, in 2005, I have had the previously unimaginable thrill of actually seeing Roger Waters play once again with his mates, Gilmour, Mason and Wright. And a beautiful touch that Roger mentioned Syd as well during Saturday evenings performance.

I have seen Roger in 1987 on the Radio K.A.O.S. tour and again in 1999 when I was lucky enough to be in the audience at Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Mo. when he performed "Each Small Candle" for the very first time.

I have seen David Gilmour's Floyd sans Roger as well.

But Saturday night was really beautiful. Roger was so into it. You could tell it was very emotional for him. David still sings so amazingly sweet and his guitar playing still touches the heart.

I truly believed that these four chaps would never play together again. After Saturday night I am hoping that they embark on a new album/tour. Hopefully NOT a Stadium tour though.

Is that being too hopeful? Asking for too much? Well, there were many years when Saturday night seemed to be unthinkable. These guys are so special together and hopefully the wounds have been healed.

Nice to be part of this forum.

i am 12, and i have liked pink floyd since i was about 9 or 10, when i really discovered how much i love music. even if i have only liked them for a few years, it would be unimaginably awesome if they went on tour. i'd be all over 1st row. just another fan with his head in the clouds dreaming all day. but hey, maybe pigs will fly.

Hey man I hope pigs fly again to,and I'll take a stadium tour at this point.Wish you were here mad me cry the other night at Live 8.A tour with Syd would probably be asking too much.Another tour 2005 is not out of the realm of posibility.I hope anyway.

Yeah, sounds logical, a few millions fans want to see them live, so I think small venues would be the better choice, all they need is rule out 5 years in their agenda for the tour
