DSOTM Challenge

Hello Guys, Gals, and Wheelbarrows,

As most of you know, I am up to challenges (or am challenged, as some might say) like a dog is up to juniper trees.

So the other day I got to thinking.

"Man, Fletch, you have listened to Dark Side of the Moon so many times. If you sat down in a dark room by yourself, I wonder if you could sing all the lyrics, hum the melodies, whistle all of the guitar solos, and do most of the background talking outloud by memory?"

SO I sat down and did just that. Knowing full well that the run time of DSOTM is 42min 52sec, I also grabbed a stop watch.

I started the stop watch and began to beat my chest with a flat right hand.

The idea was to see how close to 42min and 52 sec I could get just by memory.

Well I am very pleased to say that my ending time was 42min 50sec.......2 seconds short.

I challenge anyone to do the same.

Anyone who can come within 2 seconds of the run time will recieve a free ride in my beautiful red balloon.

I enjoy myself.

~Fletch, COS~

Re: DSOTM Challenge

well that was a bit hard and I got interrupted a few times (and had to start
again). I got 42mins 12secs...I guess I sang a bit too fast somewhere...but I think I did great anyway. now we have to do this with all the other Floyd albums (and become insane that's it)

Re: DSOTM Challenge

hum I guess I cheated a bit then. I didn't sing the whole album out loud (would've gotten some weird looks for there were people in my house) I just sang it in my head, I could never do great gig myself...does that still count?

Re: DSOTM Challenge

As much as I envy Phileas Fogg I really don't think I would have the patience or concentration to do this challenge. I would like to see you do it to Ummagumma though!

That's not really what we call 'challenge' so much as 'singing along.' Even Ashlee Simpson could do that.
