Oh my god, I freakin' love Duran Duran. I remember lip synching at a young age to 'Rio'. I like Roxy Music, too, but prefer them with Brian Eno. |

Re: Roxy Music Bryan Ferry was always the brain behind Roxy Music. Brian Eno was just the man of the Synths and other weird effects on the first two albums. On the third album Eno left and they found a replacement in Eddie Jobson, who does the job well enough. And the third album also happens to be their masterpiece.

Re: Roxy Music Possibly. But I still prefer them with Eno. He's pretty damn genius himself, though it shows more in his solo work.

Re: Roxy Music Eno is great but I think Roxy Music has always been driven more by Ferry's great songwriting and vocals. Therefor he's hardly missed on the albums without him really. It is probably so however that Roxy Music would have never been the band they once were if Eno had never been in it. Since he really is the synth/electronics pioneer.

Re: Roxy Music I've always liked Bryan Ferry, even though he's a bit on the pretentious side, and his solo work isn't bad, but I've still never liked Roxy Music as much after Eno left. It just seemed like they lost something in the music. They did go on to create more good music, and I still like the post-Eno music, just not as much.

Re: Roxy Music Have you heard the first album without Eno, Stranded? They picked up the synth thing well enough after he left and Mother of Pearl, Song for Europe, Amazona and Psalm are among their best songs ever I reckon. A few albums after that they soon went towards the pop/disco thing but they really have released some class stuff without Eno.

Re: Roxy Music Yeah, my mum's got it. She's used to be big on Ferry. She was the one who gave me my first listen to them.
