Paintings

Okay, so we already have a photography thread. This is a thread where all you painters can post your work. As Botley pointed out in the photography thread, it would probably be best if we just posted links, as to not take up too much space. So here is something I did last week. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...ewCable064.jpg

Re: Paintings

Wouldn't it be nicer if everyone makes their own thread for their own work like in the poems thread, hmm?

Re: Paintings

Perhaps. But that would take up alot of space, wouldn't it?

Re: Paintings

As long as everyone posts links to their work, it really wouldn't take up any more room than any of the other fora.. I like the idea actually..

Nice painting Darkside..

Re: Paintings

Evidently I didn't make myself very clear in the other thread, it's hardly a photography thread either, it's an intro thread and it just happened that people started posting their photographs.

I think everyone who does work should have their own thread, as long as they post links, it doesn't take up that much space. Then we can have other threads to discuss our respective mediums. So all you painters can talk about what paint you use or whatever, or who your favourite artists are, all the photographers can do the same etc etc.

Nice one.. btw

I'd say that, with the new server, space is less a concern than the fact that large images posted inline tend to screw up the forum borders and grievously slow loading. The idea of thumbnail + link is great, but begs the question of what to do if/when the link breaks. It does get past attachment size limits, though.

Just saying.

Re: Paintings

Nice painting. I did one of a jester playing an electric guitar inspired by The Wall (quite morbid and quite beautiful all at once) , but it was a gift and I no longer own it.

Re: Paintings

Haha, thanks. I'm flattered. I don't paint often actually... that one is hanging in my room. I did this other one a few weeks ago, but I don't think it's as nice. I'll take a photo sometime.

Re: Paintings

Nice painting, Nisha

It reminds me of Barnett Newman, who is, incidentally, one of my favorite painters.
