Talking Hello floyd-heads!

Just decided to join the floyd forum! Been a fan for some years now, more a fan of post syd floyd and hope to have many floydian waffles! What does anyone think of the chances of a new pink floyd album? Or at least a new tour? Any bands people think are a modern version of the floyd (excluding the obvious, like the mighty radiohead!) p.s. Wasn't floyd at live 8 fabulous? speak soon!

Re: Hello floyd-heads!

Welcome!
I think a few people have speculated on the likelyhood of a new tour/album...

Welcome Muppotmup. L8 was great, I'd be interested to know what you're favourite bits were? It might even be a good idea for a first thread? Keep posting.

Red face Re: Hello floyd-heads!

Thanks for the welcome! I didn't really watch a lot of live8, I had to help a friend out who was having problems, but floyd reforming was an emotional experiance, which funnily enough I am listening too as I write this post. Is it me or did Gilmour look less enthusiastic? The Who were good as well! Just bought 'music from the body' look forward to listening to it when I get home.

An entertaining listen, not a musical masterpiece but it sure is funny as hell.

You can say that again! I was well entertained, some weird noises on some of the tracks but the uncredited Floyd track 'Give birth to a smile' and breathe make it worth while.

Yeah...I remember listening to To the Darkside of the Moon right after ASaucerful of Secrets and could't help but notice the totally abstract effect Syd Barrett had on the music. In the end, both rocked!! ...

Re: Hello floyd-heads!

All the different periods of Floyd have their merits. But each is part of the whole Floyd experiance.
