I love the studio and it's a land mark, but the live versions do make it seem a bit minor, the solos are like 8 minutes!

That would probably be illegal, since it's an official release, and we don't want to get in trouble.

Re: Comfortably Numb Pulse solo

I've always thought Gilmour sang CN the best he ever has on the version from "Is there anybody out there"... He doesn't false it like he does on the album he really pushes it.. and his pitch is even more perfect that the original...

But as for the solo, this version is... hate to say it... lame.

So I'd say my favorite version is "Delicate Sound of Thunder"

Re: Comfortably Numb Pulse solo

I know I might get flamed for bringing up an old thread, but I just downloaded the Pulse version of 'Comfortably Numb' and played the CD version over the video to get the best effect, and I must say, it is quite possibly, one of the most amazing things I have ever heard. At 49 years of age Gilmour still has it, I actually cried because the second solo was that amazing (I'm not one for tearing up at ALL). I WISH they would have done a studio version with that extended solo, it would definitely be the best solo of all time. **** 'Stairway to Heaven' overrated as hell.

Never. We encourage old threads to be added to!

Also, WELCOME!

Re: Comfortably Numb Pulse solo

The visual impact of the circle of lights moving from the stage then tilting;and moving over BDG;and a single light from his right :Spectacular !
Add to that the Amazing Mirror Ball and you have a great image.
But ;IMHO the pulse CN sounds a bit too formal as if BDG was trying too hard to be perfect.....
