Probably Thom Yorke. He's pretty weird, alright.

Floydwright, I believe we're still waiting to hear why you dislike The Bends. How can you not like Bulletproof... I Wish I Was? or Just?

Like Spinning Plates from I Might Be Wrong was amazing.

Does that have anything to do with your name?

Halfly. I'm rather ashamed of the other half. From bygone days.

Re: Radiohead - The new Pink Floyd?

Time to give you guys my view on Radiohead. My big brother has all the albums, and he got me into PF and Radiohead.Pablo Honey serves,at least to me,as background music,as to which The Bends,is absolutely amazing.OK Computer never flaws, don't you guys tell me you skip Fitter Happier, because I certainly don't!Iäve never really listened to Kid A,except Everything,Disappear,Idioteque and Morning Bell.Sometimes even Optimistic.Treefingers and Motion Picture Soundtrack to me are fillers, not actually fillers, but I just don't get them.Thom Yorke said that Motion song is when you enter heaven (i like to listen to it before falling asleep).National Anthem is pretty good too! Amnesiac, when I first heard this I was shocked (negatively unfortunately). But then it grew on to me.First thing I found out about myself and this album was that I liked Pulk/Pull Revolvng Doors (reminds me of On The Run!).It's pretty freaky to listen to Amnesiac just before falling asleep (wow!).Especially Like Spinning Plates, and sometimes Hunting Chicks, oops,Hunting Bears can completely freak you out.Tell me,the middle part of Dollars and Cents,do you guys think its too short. That increasing tempo of drums and distortion on guitar part.It could be longer?Anyway,Radiohead is my favourite band straight after Pink Floyd and Iron Maiden.Okay,I think I've said everything,no wait,as you all might know,Knives Out is a song about cannibalism, just look at the lyrics, hilarious! "So knives out.Cook him up.Squash his head.Put him in the pot."

Re: Radiohead - The new Pink Floyd?

I bought OK Computer yesterday, and have yet to skip over Fitter Happier. I think it's amusing!

OK, I already stated my opinion on that track. Except that I called it Electioneering before, when I didn't see that little '7. Fitter Happier' off to the side. Dumb, Shane. Dumb!!

The way I see it...

People seem to think that Radiohead is the "new" Pink Floyd. And some people who feel that way also say that both bands are overrated. However, when looking at the music, new and old, of Radiohead, I don't feel that they are a new Floyd. The style of the earlier Radiohead was definately pop-alternative. And their new music seems to be taking a more, progressive-Floyd route. Their music is deep, inspiring, and etherial in its own right. But I just see the styles completely different. However, I think that Radiohead can hold their own. Floyd and Radiohead are mostly misunderstood bands.

Backup to your message....

Indeed, like the fact that Pink Floyd wrote all the songs under the influence of drugs (thank goodness Gilmour pointed this out and corrected that statement in Live At Pompeii video as many of you know).Radiohead is writing a new album,a rock album this time, even though their psychedelia is heavenly!

Re: Radiohead - The new Pink Floyd?

I wouldn't call it psychedelia. Maybe techno.

Out of curiosity, do you have a reference for that?

And for the record, drugs are not necessary for the creative spirit. It comes entirely on its own...
