Re: PINK FLOYD COLLECTOR

Do we have any collectors in the house tonight?? If so, I need some information. I am in possession of some items that I need info on. I have a cassette tape of 'The Final Cut' that has "Thomsun Original" printed on the front of it and on the cassette itself. Is this common or rare? Also I have some posters, one shows the great pyramids and it has a sorta green tint to it, and in small text at the bottom it says "Pink Floyd Darkside of the Moon" in very small print, its about a 20"x30". I also have a PF poster that shows all of the live images of single members from the Darkside cd booklet. It has 5 boxes stacked like there should be 6, each member has a box and one box shows them on stage. There are also letters scattered across the poster (PI NK FL O YD). Are these posters common or rare? NOW LAST BUT NOT LEAST, I have a sticker thats on the briefcase pictured in the new ECHOES cd. Its yellow and has the 5 little boxes with cartoon images of pyramids/suns/palmtrees/desert printed on it, it also has the scattered letters like the poster. Is this common/rare? I need to know because Im not getting rid of them, and if they were worth alot then I'd like to get them insured, so if anything happens to them, insurance has to pay me for them. Thanx guys any help would be appreciated!!!

Re: PINK FLOYD COLLECTOR

I don't know about the printing on the cassette, but all the items that you've mentioned come from the Canadian vinyl release of DSOTM. All that you're missing is another of the stickers, as all original releases came with the pyramids poster (only green in Canada, blue certainly in Europe), the live poster and the 2 stickers. None of this is very rare and without the original album or the other sticker, good only for looking at.

I think that this was mentioned in another forum, incidentally.

Cheers,

Mark

Re: PINK FLOYD COLLECTOR

I wouldn't stress it too much, matey. That'll just be the name of the manufacturing plant/company where the thing was produced.

cheers,

Mark

Re: PINK FLOYD COLLECTOR

Incidentally, I know that a bunch of you dig your bootlegs, but are there any other honest-to-goodness PF vinyl collectors on this site? It'd be cool to compare notes, etc

Slightly differently coloured labels,

Mark

Re: PINK FLOYD COLLECTOR

Fixxlevy, I just started my vinyl collection. I dont like to buy them if they're in new condition unless they're original. I dont want anything thats been reproduced. so far Ive come across Ummagumma, More, Animals, and Im working on getting A Nice Pair from a buddy of mine's mom. I just enjoy looking at them, Ive never played any of them. Later.

Re: PINK FLOYD COLLECTOR

I have just started a vinyl collection (not even a collection yet). The only Pink Floyd at the moment (but tomorrow I should have "Music from the Body") is Dark Side of the Moon, with both posters (the green tint) and both stickers.
