Re: Christmas is coming..yes it is...ho-ho-ho

I don't know how things are elsewhere in the world, but here in the U.S., there seems to be quite a controversey over Christmas. It seems the politically correct activists are taking charge over our beloved holiday.

Some schools have banned the colors red & green because they are related to Christmas, another school changed the words to "Silent Night" and forced the children to sing the new version.

Towns all over the nation are putting a ban on nativity scenes while allowing other religions to express the love they have for their holidays. Some stores no longer say "Merry Christmas", but instead greet you with a "Happy Holidays".

I'm not Christian, but our family does celebrate Christmas -- we always have & always will. It just seems disturbing to me that Christians, in a sense, don't have the right to defend their beloved day, Christ's day, our day.

The people who fight for political corectness are "worried" that Christmas will, some how, offend anyone who doesn't celebrate it; but, about 90% of the population, even if not Christian, celebrate Christmas. So I don't see where this is all coming from nor do I see the point in it.

The Christians have taken a stand, and they refuse to let their holiday be destroyed. Good for them, I say. Every religion does have a right to defend their beliefs, even the Christians.

Actually "Christmas" was an ancient Pagan ceremony that was appropriated by the church for their own nefarious purposes. And wasn't Jesus really born in August or something?
