Mogwai - Pink Floyd influenced?

Was listening to The Man The Journey the other day and was struck by the similarities between that Floyd bootleg and the quiet loud dynamics of Mogwai, has anybody else noticed this? The Mogwai track My father the king is a prime example of this.
