This is for all americans, a poll to see how many of you have actually heard of Man Utd I think that most Americans have NOT heard of them. Lets see what your opinion is.

Man Utd? Is it some sort of society for gay men?

Re: A friend of mine says that 99% of americans have heard of Man Utd - I disagree.

On reflection, it is obviously false. Consider the following propositions:

1. Some percentage of the US population is too young to know the name of any sports team.

2. Some other percentage is too old to care about anything more complex than Matlock.

3. Yet another percentage is for medical reasons oblivious.

4. The sum of those percentages is greater than one.

Should be able to Google that up right quickly, I think, should references be required.

I doubt 99% of people even know who God or the Beatles are.

I'm assuming you're talking about Manchester United, the soccer (sorry, football) team? In which case, I voted yes - actually picked up a Man. Utd. t-shirt for my brother in an Oxford bookstore when I was studying at Cambridge and wearing a Cambridge sweatshirt...probably quite a dangerous move. And yes, I am an American.

Cheers,
