Re: Singers with the Best Voice Well, let's see. Here's one for kicks & giggles: Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols. And how about that guy from the Vindictives. Two beautifully angelic voices.

Re: Singers with the Best Voice Everyone in Queen (except John Deacon, bless him) could sing well and had a tremendous range. Brian May is not really known for his vocals, but he could hit fairly high and low notes in the studio with some effort. On the song "Resurrection" from his solo album Back to the Light, he goes all the way up to D4 without using falsetto, and elsewhere in the same tune hits a very low F1 near the bottom of the bass range. Roger Taylor could probably hit notes as low as that, but without any power: his voice really belongs in the tenor range. You can hear him hit Bb4 loud and clear during "for me, for me, for MEEEEE" in Bohemian Rhapsody, but he could probably go even higher on a good day. Freddie trumps them both of course, he hit Brian's F1 in the low harmonies of "Bohemian Rhapsody" but in later years his voice got even lower. In the early seventies I think he might have been able to reach G4 with falsetto, but still had enough power to hit Roger's Bb4 on "Rock in Rio Blues" which was recorded in the mid-80's. Impressive.

Re: Singers with the Best Voice Wow Botley! I didn't know all this technical stuff. I love vocal harmonies (I love Brian Wilson's music...) but I have always considered their composition and their analysis quite a difficult task. I'm impressed! My favourite would be the great FREDDY MERCURY without a doubt and then, in no particular order: Mike Patton (that's what I call versatility), Ian Gillian, Manyard James Keenan, Trent Reznor, Chris Cornell, Adrian Belew (also in my list of favourite guitar players, song writers...), Carl and Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys and... Peter Hammill (it can be tough listening to him but he makes his voice "act" in every song).
