maynard from tool (powerful)
james from the manics (speed?)
ian curtis from joy division (compliments the dreary music)
mikael akerfeldt from opeth (if i spelt the name right, i demand a medal)

i'm tempted to say thom yorke, but he doesn't really sing...

Ozzy is the best vocalist, as soon as he sings you know it's him!

Back to the real stuff, best vocalists:
1.Bruce Dickinson
2.Roger/Dave/Rick (No Specific Order!)
At this point I'd like to promote the songs Main Theme and Cymbaline from more,gr8 pieces from the 60's,check them out if you've missed it at some point!

I agree with most of the ones posted before here are my additions:

Micheal Stipe - REM
Paul Draper - Mansun (He sounds like a woman but its good voice)
Brian Molko - Placebo (Another one that sounds like a woman, good though)
Ben Ottwell - Gomez (What a low voice, can be flakey on some songs but I like it)
Don Henley - The Eagles (Hotel California wow)
+ Some others I cant recall right now

In terms of range and clarity there is only one: Roy Orbison. His voice was as good live as it was in the studio. Three octaves.

In no particular order:
Ronnie James Dio kicks the most ass!
Jon Anderson (for all the reasons stated by others)
DG (for obvious reasons)
