Re: Mistaken Lyrics

i thought when i was little the who's pinball wizard. the part when it says "sure plays a mean pinball" was "sure plays a mean guitar"

welcome to the machine- "You bought a guitar to punish your ma," & i thought it was "you fell in the tub to punish your mom"..........& "he always ate in the Steak Bar" but "you always aimed at the state bomb" [i know it makes no scence but that is what i thought]

&
The happiest days of our lives- "By pouring their derision
Upon anything we did
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids
But in the town it was well known
When they got home at night, their fat and
Psychopathic wives would thrash them
Within inches of their lives"
& mine
"By pouring any region
Upon anything we did
exposing every weakness
How the kid flid by the kick
But in the town it went well owanight
home at night their fat and
pathetitc wives would thrash them
Within inches of their lives"

& sheep- "You better watch out, there may be dogs about.
I've looked over Jordan, and I have seen things are not what they seem."
& mine
"You better watch out, they made my dogs come out.
i tipped over a jar class , and I have seen things are not what they seem.

For a long time I thought "I don't need no drugs to calm me" was
"I don't need no drunks to call me." (it actually made sense in an AA sort of way)

Re: Mistaken Lyrics

My most cherrished mistaken lyrics for my boyhood (I think I was 13 or so) were

"Slow motion Walter....
Fire engine guy"

I'll let you figure out the actual song....

"Smoke on the water, a fire in the sky"? You should hear this Barenaked Ladies song, "Tonight Is the Night I Fell Asleep At the Wheel", they actually work the misheard line into real lyrics...

Re: Mistaken Lyrics

Well I have been singing along to Fall Out Boy.

Their Lyrics - "This aint a scene, it's a goddam arms race"

My Lyrics - "This aint a city, it's a goddam earthquake"

I ahve utterly no idea how I managed to come up with that, I think I need a hearing aid.
