Re: Underrated Floyd songs

i think i don't consider any floyd song as underrated..perhaps only "less known"...since i love those -less known- albums more than wall or division bell or wywh

I think Snowy White's solo on Pigs On The Wings is OK, but it lacks the feeling the best Gilmour solos have.

Apart from those I'd also submit The Nile Song and Not Now John. Two fantastic hard rockers that most people would never have heard.
The Nile Song is awful, and Remember A Day is just OK, but I Agree on the other songs you mentioned.

The most underrated song in my opinion is Nobody Home. Other underrated songs are Any Colour You Like, Poles Apart, Fat Old Sun (The BBC version) and Paintbox.

Re: Underrated Floyd songs

The most underrated Pink Floyd song is definitely either Comfortably Numb or Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2

"Julia Dream" is also quite nice in its simplicity.

Julia Dream and Point Me At The Sky (live version sounds better). There are many Floyd fans who haven`t heard these songs yet, but they really should!

Re: Underrated Floyd songs

"Mudmen" (one of the greatest tunes for uh, ye olde "ummagumma-ing" in my opinion); "Point Me at the Sky" (the opening bars are lovely) and "Wot's uh the Deal" (kinda Beatle-ish to my ears and fun to play on the guitar). Though I certainly doubt these songs are overlooked or underrated by the hardcore.

Re: Underrated Floyd songs

To me the most underrated songs of Pink Floyd are:
Fat Old Sun, The Trial, Goodbye Blue Sky, Another Brick in the Wall I, II & III: This songs doesnt happen to be the favourites of most pink floyd fans, as i ve seen, and fewly mentioned. Well, many people who arent pink floyd fans know the band for few songs, and this is one of them, part 2 really, one of the most known. Then in a magazine from mexico about music called Switch, in a "special" edition it came what they considered the best 10 bands, songs, albums, etc. Well song number one was ABITW part 2... why? Because it really is something, it's great and i think that it isnt fairly rated by many PF fans. (by the way, in my magazine Pink floyd came in 4th place just behind the beatles, the rollin, and NIRVANA! that band really sucks)
