Rick Wright solo albums

Hey i was just thinking looking through my cd collection and realized i dont own and never heard any of ricks solo projects. I was planning on buying them but i wanted to get suggestions on what to buy and if i should at all? I would think they would be pretty decent because of ricks voice and keyboard skills....what do you think?

p.s - astronomy domine(possibly my favorite floyd song..def top 3)...the live version on ummagumma is simply amazing.......i had to let it out

Re: Rick Wright solo albums

If I were you I would go for "Wet Dream" inmediately. I think it is one of the most interesting solo works performed by any Floyd member. There are good jazzy sections, sax soloes done by the great Mel Collins, Snowy White plays guitar in there ("Against the Odds" has a very beautiful Spanish guitar intro and solo) and there are those lovely chord progressions in which Rick is simply an expert.

If you like the 7th chords in DSotM and songs like "Us & Them" you'll love this album. I'll skip the rest though. I'm sorry but I just can't stand Rick's voice in "Broken China" , I think he should have let do the singing to any other person more qualified to sing this kind of songs (Sinead O'Connor all through the album?). Some instrumental parts are interesting though (I specially like "Runaway").

I have Wet Dream on vinyl, but I could never find a copy on CD. I think I prefer Broken China, it seems more thought-out and well-crafted.

Re: Rick Wright solo albums

i think i went to amazon.com or something to look at them once. $60 used, $100 new. I know that there not going to be earth-shattering records, and definitely not worth that much, so i think ebay would be the best bet
