Ok, so it's relatively cheap and unsophisitcated humour, but it's damn right better than anything American TV could offer, AND.. when you consider that jokes like "The Catholic church will do anything for money" were written way back when in 1988, it has its merits.

Though, the earlier stuff is better. When they get Mimi and Bertorelli it kinda starts to lose its charm. Maria was way funnier. I'm just thankful for Crabtree, every time he opens his mouth it's a riot. Plus there was that whole season or two when they were hiding the paintings in sausages marked with little swastikas..

cheers

Re: DVD recommendations?

At the moment, I'm all about the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy TV series, Dogma, and Amelie. Also, the first season of Fraggle Rock and the Muppet Show on DVD, which are both excellent and pretty much do the babysitting for me.

Yeah, my brothers chipped in and bought it for me for Christmas so they could throw my old VHS tapes (taken from the tv) away.

Re: DVD recommendations?

For those of you who are motorbike fans, the DVD of the TV series, 'Long Way Down' is well worth a watch. Not sure if that series has reached the States? It features Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor.

Re: DVD recommendations?

I've been watching some Twin Peaks, think I overdosed myself on it, so I've had to take a break, 12 hrs straight of David Lynch is warping my mind. I would suggest depending on your mood, Fargo, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Sin City or To Kill A Mockingbird. Right now I'm watching Cool Hand Luke. My question is, to all those who chose The Wicker Man, are you talking original or remake?
