Refused

I have been listening to this band so much lately. While I am not usually a fan of "hardcore" music..."The Shape Of Punk To Come" is pure brilliance. There's all kinds of obscure, non-punk, instruments used, and electronic interludes and stuff...it's very very very great.

(edit for one of my turns): The Refused invented "hardcore". It's very fast paced with intricate guitar riffs and powerful drums, and lots of screaming. This is usually a turnoff, especially for a lot of Floyd-listeners, but this album is so freaking amazing. I can't even really describe it any more than that..

Check out their album, "The Shape of Punk to Come".

Re: Refused

When talking about new bands, it's very useful to talk about what they sound like. I am constantly on the look out for a new band to try, but I usually can't tell if it'll be something I'd be into if you don't throw me a bone!

Re: Refused

the refused ARE awesome but they by no means invented hardcore. That credit would go to the germs, bad brains, black flag, and minor threat basically.
