| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets Do I own that album? Mwaahahahahaaa!!! Of course I do! It does sound similar to Mr. Wright. However, I have seen a early live version of this song and ole' Rog was the one singing the (aahhh..) parts. |

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets Don't know about the Broken China thing cause I don't have it yet, so can't help you there. But I'm definitely sure it's primarily Rick you hear singing the "Missus Clegg, you must be proud of him" parts.

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets OK, thanks, APerfectLusk. BTW--I feel REALLY stupid...but what's a "lusk"? To eug'axe--I also heard the Pompeii version. To me, that sounds so different from the studio release. Ever noticed that Mr. Wright's accent is significantly different from Mr. Waters'? He even pronounces small things like this a bit differently from Mr. Waters. Probably a regional variation, like in any other country. Personally, I still subscribe to my theory that it's Mr. Wright. But it's good to know someone else hears the similarity!

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets YOU'RE ALL BLOODY WRONG!!!! here's who i am pretty sure did the vocals on ASoS Let There Be More Light - P Diddy Remember A Day - Celine Dion Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun - Justin Timberlake of NSync Corporal Clegg - Bono A Saucerful of Secrets - Mariah Carey handled the bit at the end of the song, although many seem to think it was Gilmour See Saw - Celine Dion w/ Stevie Wonder and Elton John Jugband Blues - Bruce Springsteen |

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets According to Cliff Jones's book: Let There Be More Light is Gilmour and Waters. Corporal Clegg is Waters with Wright on backing vocals. And I have to say that I agree (Wright is indeed on the "missus Clegg" part of CC).

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets On Let There Be More Light, RWr does indeed sing the quiet verses ("now, now, now..."), but RW also simultaneously hisses them under his breath. Most people miss that. Then DG sings lead (with a very weird-sounding voice which has led Ms. FloydWright to confusion) on the loud verses, and somebody else (I think it's Waters, because the harmony voice stops to catch its breath during the pan from left to right before the whispers) joins him in harmony. On STCFTHOTS live in Pompeii, Gilmour sings the "ah-AHHH-ah" part. It's very clearly him. I'm inclined to believe Rich M's discography which says that it's also DG doing it on the studio version. But it could be Rick, I've never heard Broken China. Just for clarification, Gilmour and Waters sing alternate lines on Clegg (but Rick does backgrounds on the "Mrs. Clegg..." bit and Nick does some of the mumbling at the end). Rick obviously sings lead on See Saw and Remember A Day but Dave does some background vocals on both. Syd only sings on Jugband Blues. Roger joins him for the "la-la-la-la" part. Syd just happens to play some slide guitar on Remember A Day, a few of the lead guitar doodlings (not the main riff) on Set the Controls, some loud screechy guitar on Corporal Clegg, and of course all the guitars in Jugband Blues. So, to summarize (and this is the FINAL WORD!): Let There Be More Light - Roger and Rick on verses 1, 3, 5 and 7. Dave and later Roger during verses 2, 4, 6 and 8. No Syd in sight. Remember A Day - Rick lead, Dave background, Syd does some slide guitar. Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun - Roger lead, Dave background, Syd does some lead guitar Corporal Clegg - Dave and Roger share lead, all three share background vocals, Nick does some incomprehensible mumbling and kazoo work at the end, Syd plays the loud shrieking guitar A Saucerful of Secrets - Dave on guitars, also Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave and Dave on vocals. See Saw - Rick lead, Dave background, no Syd Jugband Blues - Syd on lead vocals and all guitars, Roger and Syd sing the "la-la-la-la" part, no Dave on this track. Nick and Rick on kazoo and penny whistle, respectively.

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets Seems fairly reasonable, but I've got a couple of questions... I'll have to re-play "Set the Controls" from Pompeii, but I thought I actually SAW Mr. Waters doing that "aaah" bit...I'll get back to you on that. Where on "Remember a Day" is Mr. Gilmour doing background vocals? I never heard that before.

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets Well, upon watching "Set the Controls" again, I'd say it could be either of them at that part.

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets botley: according to Dave in an issue of Mojo Collectibles, he says "corporal clegg was started after i joined so he's definitley not on that" fwr: i have a video copy of pf live from kqed studios and when they do set the controls dave is definitley doing the ahh part so perhaps it was the same for pompeii.

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets I thought Botley was right about Corporal Clegg. According to various books it's been recorded in February 1968 when both Syd and Dave were in the 5-men-Floyd formation. Now Dave says that Syd's not on that, so that's pretty strange, and probably we should assume that Gilmour is right but after all it was 30 years ago... ![]()

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets Quote:
I've listened to it over and over, and I'm now fairly certain that Dave does the "Ah-Ahhh-Ah" on both studio and live versions. It's the same voice doing the end of Saucerful. I dunno if Dave is right about Clegg or not... something about that crashing guitar climax at the end of the song just screams SYD BARRETT!
