Then DG sings lead (with a very weird-sounding voice which has led Ms. FloydWright to confusion) on the loud verses, and somebody else (I think it's Waters, because the harmony voice stops to catch its breath during the pan from left to right before the whispers) joins him in harmony.

Yes, I've always wondered who it really was singing that lead/loud part (with lyrics "Then at last the mighty ship descending on a point of flame..." etc.) ? If it is Mr. Gilmour, he sounds very different. Doesn't quite sound like Mr. Waters to me, perhaps it could be Mr. Wright? If Mr. Gilmour - why was he singing like that? I like it very much, but I really didn't think it was him.

For what it's worth, I always thought that Let There Be More Light had RW on the verses and Gilmour on the choruses. Remember, his voice did sound pretty different back then - check the vocals to Julia Dream. That's Gilmour, or so I've read.

Wow, if it's Mr. Gilmour then I'm really impressed. The affect that part of the song has on me is undescribable. It just sounds really different...but it's great.

Doesn't RW do vocals on that? It sounds more like Rog, given the clipped pronunciation.

I'm pretty sure Mr. Waters sings the soft verse parts, but what about the louder parts such as, "Then at last the mighty ship descending on a point of flame..." etc.? I don't think that is Mr. Waters ...

Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets

i've got a videoclip from an 68-concert
the loud part is sung by dave and the rest is a bit strange:
rick is never filmed during the quiet part but he sings the whole part and it seems that roger waters just sung a few words along with rick when he was in the mood for it - but you don't hear his vocals - maybe his mic wasn't plugged in
very strange

hmm

IMO, i think that Roger sang the soft parts, Dave whispered the soft parts, and SYD BARRETT sang the louder parts. i know thats probably not true, but damned if it doesnt sound like him. its probably Roger too though.

Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets

Ok, let me clear this up for all of you, because I KNOW who is singing on each track xcept for on "Saucerful of Secrets" (not sure about that one)

Let there be more light: Rick Wright (Far, far, far, far away....), Gimour (Then at last the mighty ship etc...). Roger whispers the lyrics with Rick for all of Rick's verses.

Remember a day: Rick (with barrett making "ccchhhs" noises)

Set the Controls for the heart of the sun: Roger

Corporal Clegg: Dave (Corporal Clegg, he had a wooden leg), with Roger (He won it in the war etc.). Dave, Rick and Roger all sing the verse "Mrs Clegg, you must be proud of him", and also repeatedly sing the line "Corporal Clegg" together toward the end- over the top of the bugle.

See-saw: Rick

Jugband Blues: Syd
