Take it Back

i was listening to the division bell recently, and when take it back came on, i had a sudden flash of bono and company belting it out.
is it just me, or does take it back have a joshua tree era U2 feel?
granted, i am drunk more often than not, so it might just be the booze.

Re: Take it Back

It's not the booze, you are right.

I've made that same observation before somewhere on this forum.

nah, it does sound like U2.
I always think "When the Streets Have No Name" sounds most similar to TIB.

Re: Take it Back

As I commented in the thread Stratman linked, "Where the Streets Have No Name" sounds to me like it was derived from "Run Like Hell."

I completely agree with Botley. The Edge has made himself a name playing with this "delay" technique which Gilmour already used in "One of These Days" and perfectioned in "The Wall". It's like Eddie Van Halen who is famous for the "tapping" technique which Steve Hackett was already using as far back as 1971 in songs like "The Giant Hogweed" by Genesis.

Here's to Take it Back!!!

I always thought the exact same thing, and that's the reason why it is the ONLY song I skip when listening to a Floyd album (also the last part of Fearless, never liked that football audience singing): I know it's not a baaaad song (neither is great) but it's my least favourite
