Top Three Most Overated Floyd Songs

Some just make my ears hurt ok hears mine

1. Hey You
2. One of these days
3. When the tigers broke free

Actually I love those first two songs. Especially One of These Days!

I don't think too many Floyd songs are OVER rated. I love each of them as much as I should, and most people have the same opinions as me.

Yeah because CN was just great. And ABITW2 was fantastic. And Money is a masterpeice.

I will admit that there are some radio play songs that make me want to shoot DJs when I hear them, but what has always bothered me was how under-rated Floyd has always been. When it comes to favorites lists and other "fun" things the music rags always put together, Floyd is somehow always left off. Frankly I think Zeppelin is probably the over-rated band. (my opinion) I've always liked there stuff too but I think we could do without so much of there airplay. Besides, Gilmore could play Page over, under and around the table. To get back to the original question, One of These Days over-rated? Joking right?

I can't possibly see how those 3 songs can be overrated. I mean, Hey You and When The Tigers Broke Free are BRILLIANT, and One Of These Days is marvelous too. I personally do think that Astronomy Domine and Time are a bit overrated, both great songs, but not as good as some think.

I have to agree on that, and even when they do play Pink Floyd, they leave out the best parts (playing only the part with text of Shine on you crazy diamond )

As a guitarist for 12 years i will tell you this is the stupidest thing iv ever heard.

Page is much more advanced player than gilmore. I dont say this b/c LZ is more agressive or faster band, just his technique is one of the best. He is also more creative than gilmore when useing the guitar putting him up into a class with hendrix.

Im not talking about who's music i like more or who's song-writing skills are better, im just saying tha Page's guitar skills are better.

Without sounding too 'Grandad' about the whole thing, I can't help but notice that some of the tracks being slated never hit the 'big time' and as such never had the broader appeal.

I've been a fan since (approximately) birth - due to my fathers preferences and I must say that some of the tracks mentioned here are revered by the people who heard them when they were first listed. The fact that they don't quite appeal to the market over the last 10-15 years is neither here nor there.

If the people who are posting these comments have been fans for long enough I'm sure this won't offend?
