Well yes, Pete is the man. It'd be silly to say that the man responsible for the creation of the greatest thing ever committed to recording wasn't a great composer!

Classically speaking, I like Mozart best of all, I think. But you've got to give Beethoven credit for creating the most recognizable riff of all time!

Re: Who's The Greatest Composer of All Time?

Mozart was a bit "tinkley" for my tastes, and Beethoven was great, yes.

But Tchaikovsky was something special. Listen to Swan Lake, The Nutcracker Suite, 1812 Overture, etc. Anyone who uses actual cannonfire in his composition is allright in my book, b'gawd!!

Mozart isn't always "tinkely," stratters.

Oh, and we can't forget Bach...now that I think about it, I think I might prefer Bach to Mozart.

Re: Who's The Greatest Composer of All Time?

I think Sean Lennon's endorsement of Jurassic 5 is the greatest composition of all time.

I'm with you stchrissie Beethoven and for rock i'll say Pete Townsend. For movies I'd say Bernard Herrmann with his original score for 1960's Psycho.
