Arfur Mullard and Hilda Baker did a version of 'you're the one that I want' from the movie 'Grease'. This gets my vote!

Re: Which is The Greatest Duet in Music History?

None of these are real "duets", as they are part of larger bands that also contributed to the writing. I was expecting to see Simon & Garfunkel, The Indigo Girls, etc...

Indeed.. I'd agree..

For the sake of the exercise I voted Plant/Page

The Kiedis/Flea one is a bit dodgy especially these days where Frusciante is becoming a pretty big driving force in the band (he's co-porducing the new album with Rick Rubin)..

Plus, we all know who my real duo heroes are.. and in this case they really are THE duo, despite the whole band being an 8 piece, but Omar controls EVERYTHING but the lyrics, which are purely Cedric's creation..

cheers

Re: Which is The Greatest Duet in Music History?

My Immediate thought was Barbara Streisand and Barry Gibb, But then I though Elton and Kiki Dee.. or Freddie Mercury and David Bowie, or Bowie/Jagger....

But none were listed.. so I went Lennon/McCartney

Re: Which is The Greatest Duet in Music History?

hoan_rulz obviously meant Which is the Greatest(Best) "Duo" in Music History with his/her poll - which is two persons working, or simply, together as opposed to a duet of performers performing the same piece together, and in ballet is known as a pas de deux - but since hoan_rulz is in Mexico City and English is likely not to be his/her lingua madre we should cut him/her some slack = be lenient with him/her.
