Who's the better bassist: The Ox or TMV guy?

I dunno, though Entwistle was a pioneer for bassist in rock music, and could play things you only wish you could in your dreams, the guy from The Mars Volta might be better. I mean, 2 albums is good room for evaluation, isn't it?

I voted for Entwistle since I'm such a big Who fan. But I don't know man that TMV guy sure plays some tasty lines.

Ox, no question. Listen to the double-stops during the last verse of "Won't Get Fooled Again."

I woted for Entwistle. I have only Quadrophenia, but that is one crazy bass challenge for my ears.

I'm always amazed when I listen to the bass in "The Real Me".

I like The Who, but I never really got into them seriously.. soooo we all know where my vote is going..

The flaw here though, dear OOMT.. is that Juan didn't play on the first album, it was Flea. So you only really have one album to go by. Perhaps a Flea v Juan thread would have been better.

Though, I have seen Juan grow and improve infinitely.. so, he can only go further, hence, why I put my vote in there. Plus, you take a listen to Cygnus.. god that song is insane in terms of the rhythm section.

Ah thanks. Lars and I were having a discussion, and I decided we should put this up because we weren't sure.

Of course we also know the vocalist pisses all over Daltrey and Townshend combined and TMV's lyrics are also superior to anything Pete ever wrote. But does their drummer beat Keith Moon? I'm not so sure about that myself.
