| Re: Gilmour Live! AAArgghh. I am just a wee bit jealous, knowing though that 2 years ago I saw a 3 hour set by Waters helps to ease my pain.

| Re: Gilmour Live! Quote:
Absolutely! I was in the terrace and we could see her very clearly. As someone else mentioned, she wasn't an audible problem, just either on drugs or didn't take her drugs . As a general point, though, I don't know whether we had a lot of Americans in ] or what, but there were a lot of people who just could not shut up even when DG was speaking! You think people would respect that intimate environment or at least (some of them) understand the Animals incident, origins of the Wall, etc. and shut the hell up! Unfortunately not. Worse still, we had a couple of real seals near us who would clap loudly by themselves just when DG changed between different sections of the same song! (Not even the di-di-dah-di of SOYCD!). Ok, rant over  Actually, by contrast, the RW ITF DVD that finally landed on my doormat this morning seems to have a very respectful audience. |

| Re: Gilmour Live! James1after909, Now it's our turn to be envious - we heard Robert Wyatt (in fact, that was all - no wheelchair access to the stage, apparently), but seeing Geldof would have been great! I do hope ROIOs emerge. |

| Re: Gilmour Live! James1after909, Cool! To have seen "Pink" himself on stage with David would have been brilliant, but seeing Robert Wyatt on the first night is sufficient compensation. Wonder who'll be "Pink" tonight? beardedbloke: I don't know if the Yanks were the loud-mouthed ones - I can understand how one might come to think that - but the shouters were indeed most irritating, yelling out all manner of rubbish, probably requesting songs not in the play list. I agree, people should shut the hell up and let the professionals get on with the job at hand. The bloke behind me kept trying to sing along, very badly every time, but since David was changing the way he sang the songs from the way they sound on released versions, it was fortunately not possible for the guy to follow along for very long. Whew! Max Bell (spit spit!) reviewed David's first night in yesterday's London Evening Standard newspaper, and if I gave a damn about his opinions, I would have sent off a scathing reply to his critique. I mean, I wondered after reading it whether he was even at the same concert as me, or if he'd left early to attend some Brit-pop gig. The jingoistic bollocks he was spouting isn't even worthy of repeating here. I just wonder how many decades he's spent making music and performing Live, and whether he'll have as much of a following when (if) he reaches David's age. Fiercely Floydian, Byron
