| Re: Gilmour Live! beardedbloke (please, call me BoaB or Byron), I didn't think there would be an URL link to the article, but I found it: http://www.thisislondon.com/dynamic/hottx/music/top_review.html?in_review_id=487458&in_review_text _id=446964 And I mistook his article title for other than "Shine on you CRUSTY Diamond". The effing gall! ![]() The guy sounds to me like a bit of an arse, but different strokes and all. Enjoy - if you can, Byron p.s. BTW, the Viv Stanshall mentioned in the article was the elderly geezer (Autobiog.: "Ginger Geezer") who fronted the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.

| Re: Gilmour Live! Some of you are wanting a RoIO from this show. Well, I don't believe that there is one out of the "special guest" show. But there is one out of one of his earlier shows. You can find it on ebay. Like I said, it's not the greatest ( a little "distant" sounding) but overall is worth having. Unless of course you want the "special guest" shows. Anywho...

| Re: Gilmour Live! Thanks for noticing, Floydboy. But I will wait until the ones from the "special guest" show have been mastered (provided someone was "enterprising" enough to get a recorder in there...). That's what took so long the last time...

| Re: Gilmour Live! BoaB, Thanks for the link; I think it was slightly off due to frames: http://www.thisislondon.com/dynamic/hottx/music/review.html?in_review_id=487458&in_review_text_id= 446964 To refer to PF members as dinosaurs is laughable -- that's precisely what they were called by the press (and bands like the Sex Pistols) when punk rock came around. Regardless of one's opinion of that period, the Floyd prevailed for a further twenty odd years. Even the recent compilation sold like hotcakes. How ridiculous of this guy to regurgitate all that dinosaur nomenclature when it is so utterly self-defeating. Like most of the rest of the "review" (or serious of anti-Floyd statements as it seems to be), it smacks of more ignorance and venom than considered insight. I prefer the review by (the much more musically credible) Jools Holland. http://www.thisislondon.com/dynamic/hottx/music/review.html?in_review_id=487458&in_review_text_id= 445225 Beard |

| Re: Gilmour Live! Interesting--I notice both keep quiet about the wonderful "surprise guest"...I can imagine a variety of reasons why that request might've been made! Almost makes you wonder if it's going to happen again, though I'm sure they realised word would inevitably get out on the Internet...

| Re: Gilmour Live! FloydWaters, Nope, no request from DG or anyone else. I'm just following Byron's lead to give those who haven't yet been to the concert the pleasure of finding out then  I actually heard a strong rumour beforehand, so it wasn't entirely a surprise for me. As for finding out on the net, sure you can find that out. If anyone's still yet to go to the show, however, do yourself a favour and wait  Beard |

| Re: Gilmour Live! Beard, Again, thanks for the update - I've corrected the link in my post as well. The Jools Holland review seemed much more even-handed, and at least qualifies on my scale to be a respectable critic: an accomplished musician, has played Live and sold records, his band Squeeze had some success in the 80s I believe, has jammed with David. Cheers, Byron

| Re: Gilmour Live! To see some pix of Daves 16Jan concert check out my website (www.hembling.net). The quality might not be much (cheap borrowed digital cam) but its better than nothing. Our view was pretty interesting too, being able to see the backstage tunnel and the coming & going of the band/roadies etc... After Rick left the stage he sat and watched the remaining show from this tunnel entrance. Anyone have links to more pix ? Gary |

| Re: Gilmour Live! Concert was excellent last night, although it did take a few minutes to get used to hearing Floyd songs done acoustically. Gilmour's guitar work nevertheless had THAT sound. High points were Wish You Were Here (David stopped singing and the crowd sang the whole song), Fat Old Song and Dominoes. High Hopes was the biggest surprise for me. Guests were Kate Bush and Rick Wright. Kate sang Comfortably Numb (which to be honest didn't quite work for me. The audience went wild though when David picked up his electric guitar to play the solos) and Rick played keyboards for 3 songs (Numb, a song from his solo album and something else that I can't remember). |

| Re: Gilmour Live! How on Earth did David entice the reclusive Kate Bush onto the stage? A bit of a coup, methinks. Sweet!

| Re: Gilmour Live! And, of course, if anyone has links to photos showing Mr. Wright's guest appearance, I would very much like to see them. Thank you very much in advance.
