I can actually hear at least two different takes in the "Time" solo. But yeah, whatever.

Some songs are defintively better live than the studio versions. Fat Old Sun is a decent song on Atom Heart Mother, but is boring compared to the BBC live version from 1971 which is awesome.

The magic on Dark Side Of The Moon is almost impossible to recreate live. There is some nice versions of Breathe, Us And Them and Money out there, but in the end it will never be the same as the original.

live your never getting the sound quality u get in studio. Especially old stuff in late 60s and all of 70s. Pulse from sound quality point of view sounds good. So i prefer studio, b/c as a musician, it is hard for me to listen to poorly mixed audio. HOwever one of my favorites is a live version of echoes featured on a live BBC performance.

I feel the same way about "One of These Days"... it's totally a studio creation, the only "live" recording that even comes close to capturing the magic is that crazy Pompeii performance.

But "Echoes" seems to always work, no matter how badly they screw it up onstage.
