A couple of questions

Hey people, I have two quick questions that have been on my mind lately.
First of all, I heard that Pigs (Three Different Ones) is sung by three different people, and I can recognize two different voices, but I can't find the third. So if this is true, can you help me find the last voice? (random, I know..)
And the second question is when EXACTLY! to the exact second, should I start the Wizard of Oz and DSOTM?

Another random comment, but I just listened to Meddle, late I know, but totally worth it, because it is now one of my favorite albums, and it's Pink Floyd at their best, and Echoes>>>>Atom Heart Mother Suite.

Re: A couple of questions

okay i wanted to tell the story myslef, but found this instead so:
basically the most important thing in the text is -third roar- of lion, you'll see, but there are some folks who say it can be also on the first roar

--->>" It will probably take you a few tries to get the synch lined up just right so be patient. First load the Dark Side of the Moon CD into your CD player and hit PLAY (>) and then immediately hit PAUSE (II) so it is cued up and ready to roll. Be sure also to set your CD player to continuous replay. This in most CD players is done by hitting the "REPEAT" button twice. Hitting it once will repeat only the presently playing track so hit the button two (2) times and it will replay the CD over and over. The CD will play roughly two and a quarter times through the entire length of the movie. Now start the video and get past all the preview junk (about five minutes worth on the THX voersion) at the beginning and watch for the BLACK & WHITE MGM lion to roar. After the BLACK &WHITE MGM Lion roars for the THIRD (3rd) time IMMEDIATELY hit the play button on the CD player.
Be sure to turn down the sound on the TV because the dialogue and original soundtrack are not necessary for this experiment. "The Dark Side of the Moon" will provide all the sound you need. For your most enjoyment make sure you get number one in the list below exactly right. Don't worry if you have to restart it a few times. The effect is worth the trouble. I have discovered some problems with a few of the compact stereos with the CD player on the top. They either do not have a "repeat" function or the response is a bit delayed.. Therefore your results after the first playthrough will probably vary from this list. Just get the first one listed below correct and you will at least get the first and best playthough just fine."

anyhoo, meddle is mine fave album. just keep listening and you'll see how amazing it is
cheers

Re: A couple of questions

All three verses of "Pigs" are sung by Roger, with Dave providing harmony (and that funky talkbox solo in the middle)... Rick might be in there as well, but if so then he's buried in the mix.

Re: A couple of questions

Pink Floyd songs for which Rick sings lead (ie, at least partly on his own without another voice accompanying):

Matilda Mother, Paint Box, Remember A Day, See Saw, It Would Be So Nice, Summer '68, Burning Bridges, Stay, Time, Wearing the Inside Out. That's 10 in total.

really, I always thought Syd sang that, are you sure? It kind of sounds like Syd too. Paintbox and Remember A Day were great vocals, I really feel that he didnt sing enough given the great texture and contrast between his and Daves voices. A great example of that would be Time, I cant listen to any version of that song without him and be satisfied. And I think that Wearing the Inside out is not only Ricks best work but a great lyrical stab at Waters and the rocky relationship between the two. I have always been partial to Rog, but Rick is the man

Re: A couple of questions

He and Syd take turns on "Matilda Mother" (just like Dave does with him on "Time").

Re: A couple of questions

If it wasnt the arpeggios on time;I would have known the diffrence.
  1. What exactly does the voice over added in "Astronomy Domine" speak?
  2. Who does the vocals on "Biding My Time"?
  3. What does "P.o.w.R.T.O.c.H. " mean ?
