Re: Gone But Not Forgotten

Of bad taste, yes, but what reason do you have to defend her? That she was a human being? Human beings die every day, wholly decent ones, too, so what reason do I have to pity her? The Spanish make light of death every year, it's a national holiday, does that make them of bad taste? Of course, that's different, they celebrate the life of the dead, not insult them like I am, but in the case of our Anna, there isn't much to celebrate.

Nobody's asking you to pity her or do anything else. Just suggesting you not be an asshole about it.

First rule of holes: Stop digging.

For myself, I don't object for any theoretical moral reasons like the ones you mentioned. I have little sympathy for anyone involved, excepting the infant. But I do object to slamming her for the same reason I'd not let racial epithets be used in my presence without objection - I don't think casual callousness should be acceptable.

And frankly, for a half billion dollars, I probably would've married the old guy, had the opportunity come my way.

Now, if someone would just make me an offer on this extra kidney...

Dunno, but I'd have definitely wanted the bold decollatage...

Forgotten, but not gone.
