He played a few keyboard parts, not all of them by any means.

Re: Roger is an a**hole

Roger is an asshole, but he has earned the right to be. He is arrogant, and rightfully so. He is the best songwriter of the last half century....and he is not going to shy from it. Everyone these days wants a humbled wuss, because its so P.C. compared to Roger just speaking his F'ing mind in these interviews. Roger Waters = Pink Floyd. Might I also add that his solo career has been MUCH more successful than David's. Look, I hate to take sides here because I love Gilmours guitar work and I like his new album even. But What the F*ck do you people want? Ok, he took control of the band...and maybe was a jerk about it (Would there have been another way?). If you cant handle that, then dont ever listen to The Wall or The Final Cut again. You cant have it both ways. Dont b*tch at Roger and then love the music he nearly single-handedly created. Bunch of hypocrites.

I always though Dave and Rick sang great together. Maybe Rick wasn't in his best shape for the album, but where did Roger get off forcing him to leave the band? He makes the dude cut his summer vacation after sitting in the studio for months doing nothing, and then he throws him out. And Roger even wanted to force Nick Mason out after hearing Jeff Porcaro play on "Mother." This guy really took all control and abused it.

I agree with you. He is an idiot and the final cut was totally bogus because it was really a roger waters solo album and the real band is only on 50% of the album.

And we're not terribly good at complicated chord structures. A lot of it is just very simple stuff dressed up." -David Gilmour

Re: Roger is an a**hole

The wall is a great album. But it would not be what it is today without Waters so you have to give that to him. The guy is way to arrogant and self rightious even though he did great work on the wall.

Roger Waters: Homo Moronis

That guy is a moron.
1. The guy has an ego the size of Goliath.
2. For all of us conservative Americans he called Richard Nixon and Ronald Regan a tyrant.
3. He kicked Rick Wright out of the band.
4. Pink Floyd would still be together if it wasn't for him.
5. He produced the Final Cut witch is basiclly not even the real Pink Floyd album, but a Roger Waters solo album.
I want to know why he can't just shut his big ego down for one minute and go and talk with the band about coming back. They did it for Live 8, why can't they do a tour? They can't because of Him. I wish the guy would do somthing right for once. I hope Live 8 taught the guy something that he can shut his ego down, it's just a matter of if he wants to or not.

Re: Roger Waters: Homo Moronis

All of these topics have been discussed a million times.

Either way...you're honestly crediting Roger for only The Wall!?!
You know, he wrote all the lyrics for Dark Side of the Moon? Do you know what the lyrics mean? Do you know what the album means?

And yeah...Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon are two class A fellows

Well I for one am shocked and appalled by these new revelations! Why has no-one ever picked up on this before?! I am writing to my MP immediately.

1. The guy has an ego the size of Goliath. Unfortunately, this is not a difficult thing to acquire.
2. For all of us conservative Americans he called Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan tyrants. For all those non-conservative non-Americans, maybe he struck a chord.
3. He kicked Rick Wright out of the band. Mr. Wright didn't contribute anything to Animals AT ALL.
4. Pink Floyd would still be together if it wasn't for him. All good things must come to an end.
5. He produced the Final Cut which is basically not even a real Pink Floyd album, but a Roger Waters solo album. Lots of people like the Final Cut, although I don't include myself in this number.
I want to know why he can't just shut his big ego down for one minute and go and talk with the band about coming back. He has said publicly that he would be willing to tour with the band as far back as five years ago. They did it for Live 8, why can't they do a tour? David Gilmour is the reticent one (that matters) in the group on this point. They can't because of him. See my last point. I wish the guy would do something right for once. I'm not fond of his albums but he puts on an excellent show and continues to do so (unlike Pink Floyd). I hope Live 8 taught the guy something; that he can shut his ego down, it's just a matter of whether he wants to or not. It's a true story.
