Goodbye, Rosa Parks.

Rosa Parks died today at the age of 92. I hope she was content with her life, and her achievements; without her, the US would be a very different country today.

It is a wonderful thing when one ordinary person can decide they've had enough, and then changes the world. Goodbye Mrs. Parks, and thank you.

Re: Goodbye, Rosa Parks.

Indeed, an American Heroine to be honoured. Very ordinary, largely anonymous but her lone bus-rage episode one day back in the 1950's surely made a huge difference to the way people see themselves and others today.

RIP, Rosa Parks. Never let it be said that one person cannot make a difference.

A great woman indeed, a modern hero if I ever saw one. No person is too small if insignificant to change the course of the world. May she never be forgotten.

Rest in Peace Ms Parks.

Re: Goodbye, Rosa Parks.

instead of lying in state, they should have cremated her and given her a ride on every bus in DC. Maybe buried her remains in a mock bus. Insert generalized sarcastic remark shining light upon the actualy minute role she played in history.

And if any of you fools get p[ssed that Im sayin this, go check out all the mongers taking a leak on Lennon in the Dark Side Of the Forum.

Praise Allah! (insert crazy arab with bedsheet on head doing that tongue thing only they know how to do)

Her role was far more than minute....HOWEVER....

In 1955, the time was right for those racist policies to be expunged, and if it had not been Rosa Parks, it would have been somebody else.

Re: Goodbye, Rosa Parks.

Rosa Parks was chosen as the head of her movement because she was a "good citizen". She was not the first to make a stand like that. A 15 yr old girl had made a very similar bus moving refusal earlier in the same year, but was deemed unfit as a representative of their movement because she got pregnant and was unmarried.

Rosa Parks was a member of the NAACP before the bus incident. Hence why she was so highly praised by them.

That's true. As a member of the NAACP she also attended training classes sponsored by the Communist Party on how to promote union strikes, picket lines and commie propaganda.

So ironically, training Rosa to protest her treatment aboard that bus may have been the only thing beneficial to the USA that the communist party has ever done.

Re: Goodbye, Rosa Parks.

Ofcourse sitting on our comfortable swivel chairs in 2005, we know exactly what was and wasn't a significant event in the early days of the Civil RIghts movement.

That ONE person made a stand - no matter what the significance - isn't enough for some of you jokers.

GlassOnion - just what kind of "oppression" did John fucking Lennon ever face for you to even draw his name into this thread as some sort of justification for your puerile remarks? So who the hell is saying that Rosa Parks was the greatest thing since sliced bread?

Scores of people - both black AND white - died or were brutalised in the struggle for equal rights. So what if Rosa Parks was/is merely a symbol for the faceless many? Are we so cheap that we can't acknowledge the contribution made by one person?

PS: What do you have against arabs? That "doing that tongue thing only they know how to do", isn't limited to Arabs. And if you knew what they use it for, you wouldn't be making fun of it either. Would you be making jokes if "Taps" was playing?

Well Simon, the Us government persecuded Lennon for five years trying to have him deported. Lets see was poor ole Rosa ever hassled? Nixon himself, J.Edgar Hoover and the likes were all dead set to get Lennon out of the country to stop him from performing anti-Nixon concerts around the time of his re-election. There are FBI files released about Lennon and the surveillance of his life. He had to put his career on hiatus because of this for five years. Did Rosa have to do this or was she just a token colored used a f###in pawn? Get real. Let me guess this isnt oppression, Lennon was white, only colored peoples can be oppresed, right Simon?

And about the arab comment, whether or not anyone wants to admit it we are in a war, a religous war with this hateful religion. Have you not seen the videos of beheadings with F***in steak knifes of american soldiers with their arab torturers shouting "ALLAH AKBAR ALLAH AKBAR" and doin the tongue thing. Where in the world is the Geneva convention here? These lunatics are following religion to the gates of hell. We throw some womens panties on their heads and make them stand in a pyramid and people are going to jail. I make fun of their blood thirsty religion and culture and all you politically correct fools mess yourselfs. Well bullocks to you all. Simon, grow a spine man, and look at the big picture.
