Twenty tracks seems to be pushing it a bit, discs one and two both hold a mere thirteen a piece. Still, never let logic get in the way of a good list, I say, so here ya go.

To answer your questions...
1)Well, both really. I do know for a fact that Syd Barrett would always strum his guitar to Beatles' chords and ask his other Floydians if they had heard their latest song yet, so what makes you think that Syd wouldn't have had some fun and did 1 cover for his own personal keepings?
2)It's already been done numerous times, I have a CD set of George Carlin's, in which one of them contains a hidden track of him as a 12 year old.

Rather than rely on personal choices, I made another 2-disc compilation based on James Guthrie's list of "also-rans" that were considered for Echoes but ultimately rejected (by the way, that page is a very interesting read, I highly recommend you visit it). I then shuffled the list in order to facilitate Echoes-like seagues and crossfades between tracks that I created myself. It's best to think of it as Echoes II... but I like to call it "Raving and Drooling: The Rest of Pink Floyd."

I also threw in some songs from Relics and Works ("Cirrus Minor", "The Nile Song", and "Free Four") to represent the soundtrack albums, which appear to have been overlooked entirely by the band (or perhaps there was a dispute about copyright and EMI didn't want to shell out the bucks to buy extra rights). Again, I would have picked them myself but I wanted to use ONLY the band's judgement and referring to previous compilations was the best way to do this. I also threw in Crumbling Land to have SOMETHING from the Zabriskie Point soundtrack, and Embryo and Biding My Time because they're on compilations and nowhere else.
