Enter the Haggis - anyone else hear them?

http://www.enterthehaggis.com/index.php

I saw them on a PBS special - Kick ass rockers, or whatever you call what they do - rock? Punk? Anyone else ever hear them? All I know is I got into it so much I forgot the chicken on the grill and had blackened chicken for dinner

Re: Enter the Haggis - anyone else hear them?

Bless my soul, a band called 'enter the haggis'! No, I have never heard the band..but I have heard the real thing. At the height of the haggis breeding season ( early October), when the mist drifts over the purple heather, throughout the glens of Scotland the haggis can be heard calling to one and other. This eerie sound is quite high pitched, and can not usually be heard by the human ear. However dogs, badgers and the like would probably pick up on the sound. Most people in the highlands find that consuming a large quantity of whisky helps to make the sound more audible. For anyone visiting the highlands, I suggest drinking the whisky from a 'quaich' whilst lying on your back.

The haggis is a living creature, but sadly they have been hunted to near extinction. Being a vegetarian I would not dream of eating one, but they can be eaten.

LOL- Well I figured it was some sort of feral wild creature that I had a taste of once upon a time, if you can use the words 'taste' and 'haggis' in the same sentence that is

If Bruce Lee had been Scottish...his first film might have been 'Enter the Haggis'?

The best tasting Haggis comes from the Glens of foundland on the A96,just south of Huntly, Actually Culsalmond Hill. January is the true season for hunting the almighty Haggis.

....but the Glens of Foundland is usually blocked with snow, giving the haggis a bitter tatste. The arctic conditions also sparked the great frozen haggis scare of '67!

If you take the detour through fisherford on to the Turriff rd (which is always plowed) you can make it.
Dont forget the blizzard of 77/78 which started the shortage of the spotted.

Haggis is/are meat? I guess that's a good a guess as any.

So, is Haggis the singular or plural? Are they Haggi ? Or is it a Haggi ? Do they travel in pods or herds ? I know I'm asking the experts here
