Talking I love me some Pink Floyd

[FONT=Century Gothic]Just a couple of years ago, I found myself to be completely bored with modern music and what little it had to offer. I was trying my best to find songs that were worthy of downloading on KAZAA. The name "pink floyd" came into my mind, and I entered it into the search engine and was given a rather large list of songs by the band. The first title that struck me as intising was "Comfortably Numb". I downloaded the song and listened to it for the very first time and I was in total awe of what my ears were hearing. So then begun my spark of interest in The Floyd. Now, I am 17, and im one of the biggest Pink Floyd fans of my age that I have ever heard of. I have just about every CD made in the band's history, my favorite movie is no doubt "The Wall", and I continue to invest my money in memrobilia of all sorts. I adore Roger Waters because he is an amazing bass player (my favorite intsrument) and has such a beautifully deep and twisted mind. The movie, and especially the soundtrack of "The Wall", moved me to a point that is indescribable. The first time of hearing the album all the way through touched me so deep that I feet I've never been the same. In my opinion, Pink Floyd is the greatest band to ever grace this earth with their talent and insight of the way of the world. My mom is a huge Celine Dion fan to the point that I thought she was obsessive and almost stalker-like. She told me it was a religious thing for her and I laughed thinking she was off her rocker. However, now that I have been exposed to the power of Pink Floyd, I find that I know exactly how she feels. I even feel that I have some sort of spiritual connection with the music because of how intense the feeling I get when I listen to Pink Floyd. When in times of hardship and it seems that there is nothing left to get me through the day, I turn to the Floyd, and for a while my troubles seem to fly from me. Hell, just about every time I listen to the radio I will hear a pink floyd song. Pink Floyd is my release, my answer, my salvation in a way. I know that may sound a little creepy, but I'm not a creep, just a really big fan. I have even converted several people from what I believe to be music of lower standards to the revitalizing sounds of the Floyd. I have never been disappointed in Pink Floyd, however, my only disappointment is that I was never so fortunate enough to be able to see The Floyd in concert. The only concert that I was aware of being put on in my history of being a fan, was one in Hyde Park, London that I would have done nearly anything to go to, but unfortunately couldn't afford the expense of taking a trip out of California to go and see them. There were many great musical legends out there, but none as great as Pink Floyd, and this is why my heart will stay true to the band for as long as I live.

Welcome, rox!

Your story will strike a familiar chord with most folks here. I went through the same thing about the time you were born.

Floyd on!
