I have noticed that people left and right have put down the final cut album. I am not satisfied, that is the most soulful floyd album ever. I think that the title song is one of their best!!! I pity the fool who doesnt like this album.

Oh, by the way, Waters is a god.

It's not a bad album, no PF album is bad, its just mediocore to PF standards.

Some of Gilmours best guitar is on this album.....the little of it that we hear. And I reckon that had the floyd continued past TFC, we would have had Pros & Cons, & Amused to Death as Floyd albums.....hopefully they would have had the common sense to drop radio kaos ( what was he thinking !)

There will continually be this thing of Dave saying that TFC is bad and Roger saying that AMLOR and TDB are bad.

cheers

I do sometimes.

With the exception of COLLECTION OF GREAT DANCE SONGS, which is the utlimate "bad" PF album and "Not Now John" on TFC, which I think is quite good, it's Pink Floyd's worst (least good) album.

I'll admit that TFC is a little one dimensional. I think a lot of people enjoyed the alternatingly serious lyrics and wandering music. That (I think) is what makes Wish You Were Here such a huge fan favorite. The lyrics are typical Roger, but the rest of the band was still constructing whacky music too. By the time The Final Cut came about, Richard was out and Nick wasn't much of a factor. Finally it was just Rog and Dave. When it comes down to it, the guy who's writing all of the songs is going to have the most input on them. Dave added the same thing he always did, mourning solos and some good riffs (ie. Not Now John) but those who don't enjoy this album are likely those who most miss the work of Richard Wright and Dave Gilmour's musical adventures.

Personally, I don't like too much musical wanking. For instance, I only need about 3 minutes of Shine On.... So TFC is a great album for me.
