| Hey can anyone tell me the meaning behind summer 68', just based on the lyrics iv made the strange assumption that its about a one night stand (i hardly even know you) which begot a child (from your bed i gained a day) and the the woman left the man (we say goodbye before we've said hello) (and asks how do you feel?) about what you've done. Now the person has had to grow up too fast (lost a bloody year) and cant go out and enjoy time lazing around with friends.(My friends are lying in the sun, I wish I was there)(???)

| Re: Summer 68' meaning? It's an early Rick Wright's lyric. I don't think there's a lot of meaning there. The music is wonderful though. |

| Re: Summer 68' meaning? Actually there is a meaning in the lyrics. Summer '68 is considered the first song where Pink Floyd criticized rock 'n' roll lifestyle.

| Re: Summer 68' meaning? I always figured it was Rick expressing his shame and guilt for cheating on his wife with a groupie.
