So I'll probably be seeing them for a 6th time, come February. Maybe with Saul Williams.
What?! Another album?! I'm going to have to request some information.

Re: Aproaching Concerts Thread

It's true, Trent brought programmer Atticus Ross on the road with him so they could work on it between shows. Originally it was going to be half leftovers from With Teeth, and half new material. But that may change to all-newness because Reznor has been writing more songs and the new material is "different."

This likely means the release of outtakes and leftovers from the 2004 sessions could be delayed, but other non-album material (such as instrumental or acoustic stuff in the vein of Still) is in the pipeline as well. This part of the tour wasn't properly filmed, unfortunately, but the next one will be for an upcoming video release. Trent is also considering working on Saul Williams' next record (which would be totally, unrelentingly awesome).

What with all these distractions, I'm guessing the next NIN album won't drop until at least Spring or (more likely) Summer 2006, but the tour is set to continue until then. They'll be making their way back around North America from mid-January until March, then heading out around the world all over again. On a slightly down note, Jerome Dillon has decided to leave the band for good. Alex Carapetis is going to drum for NIN from now on.

Dude.. I just think I peed a little bit from excitement (well not really and I'm sure that's not an image you wanted, but @#$% that is the best musical rumour since the Omar/Flea/Frusciante/Terry Bozio collaboration rumour.)

*does a little dance*

Speaking of Omar, he's just released another side project by "Omar Rodriguez" (I swear that man uses a different version of his name every single time he releases something new) Now it's very underground and people have only found out about word of mouth, I don't even know whether you can get it here. But it's the "Omar Rodriguez Quintet" Which is basically him, Cedric, Adrian (the sax player for TMV) and a couple of other people. All the track names are in Dutch (because that's not random at all coming from a Puerto Rican/American) and apparently the quintet has been doing some intimate and small shows in clubs in Europe. So anyone who wants to buy me a plane ticket to Holland is more than welcome to do so, I'm sure I can find my own accommodation/food/ticket to show

thanks

sorry, that was mildly offtopic.. lets get back on it

cheers

Re: Aproaching Concerts Thread

I heard there was talk of a big world tour in about 15 years supporting a new album.

Re: Aproaching Concerts Thread

A new batch of NIN's North American tour dates were just announced. Right now, it looks like I might be able to get to the show in Ottawa on March 3rd.

Re: Aproaching Concerts Thread

CAKE is coming to the Fillmore, Denver on the 30th of Jan., I think you have to be 16 to get into that show and i will only be 15 so i don't know what to do. If i make it to that show, that means that i will have seen them 3 times on the same tour.

I was sure impressed. Here's my revue from the "favorite concert / recent shows" thread:

They performed the whole of their "Christmas Eve and Other Stories" album, then, after an introduction of all the members, they finished off with a potpourri of classic rock and rockified classics. A perfect blend of Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Liszt with heavy metal. Screaming guitars (Al Pitrelli! Alex Skolnick! Angus Clark!), dazzling keyboards, drums, and a large string section blend perfectly to bring a whole new flavor to traditional classical Christmas music.

The light show, special effects and pyrotechnics were jawdropping. I think even Marc Brickman would have been impressed. Picture this: for one number, a floydlike laser show shone through a snowstorm produced by real snowmakers above the audience. Very imaginative.

It was brilliantly performed by exceptional musicans; an audiovisual feast for the senses. Just watching/hearing Angus Clark play "Flight of the Bumblebee" on guitar was alone worth the price of admission.

If you get a chance to see them, do.

No, I don't work for TSO. I was just that impressed.

Re: Aproaching Concerts Thread

Since I've been going on about the Trans-Siberia Orchestra, and we're approaching Christmas, here's a link showing a house in Ohio whose Christmas lights were sync'd with TSO's song "Wizard in Winter". Check it out! (give it a minute to load)

http://media.putfile.com/WizardsofWinter-SM

Here's a link to snopes verifying it's reality and explaining how this guy does it without driving his neighbors batshit.
