Re: The worst one

Hmm...I thought "Seamus" was pretty neat, myself. But then again, I am a MAJOR blues freak...so you can see how THAT came about!

Re: The worst one

Seamus is great, but if the question is "least Floydian" then I think it might take the cake.

Re: The worst one

Then why doesn't "Biding My Time" fall into the same category?

Seamus is really not that bad, it's not good but it's not terrible.

Re: The worst one

I like Seamus in the sense that it is a big joke. There is no way that the members of PF wrote a song with one verse that only lasts barely over 2 minutes, without "being funny" in there heads, you know? Or maybe I am totally wrong and it is some concept piece about Russians and the nuclear age...*hehe* I doubt it...but it is quite possible!

I'll agree with you on Take it Back, but I don't see where you're coming from with San Tropez?

1. As I reach for a peach.
2. I'm drinking champaine like a good tycoon.

Come on, where would we be today without genius lyrics like these? (im not being sarcastic)

It's just like the Spanish-American war.........

Re: The worst one

Ummagumma. The live stuff is OK, The Narrow Way is OK (part three is actually quite good), the rest is utter rot.

Re: The worst one

So many to choose from:

Anything from the studio version of ummagumma
All of TDB except for High Hopes
80% of AMLOR
Half of The Final Cut (second half is excellent, and more than makes up for the first half)

But if I had to choose, it would be Bring The Boys Back Home/Vera on The Wall.

Re: The worst one

My least favorite song is On The Run, because when even I try to convince my friends that DSotM is a good album we get as far as On The Run, at which point they invariably say, "What the hell is this crap??"

Re: The worst one

That was actually what let me know DSotM was like NOTHING I'd ever heard before--what made me KEEP listening to PULSE (my first album...for some reason I picked up the second disk first). It defied all rules, it had a manic energy all to its own. It was an incredible weaving of sound and patterns that one would never expect--yet somehow worked. I really don't understand why people bash this song. It was this experimentation--this way of defying expectation and logic...that drew me all the way into the Floyd.

Re: The worst one

I changed my mind!

The worst PF song IMO has to be Sorrow!

What a boring piece of crap.

I say that people over 40 years old shouldn't be allowed to distort their guitars like that.

Re: The worst one

Why does everyone choose Ummagumma songs? You can choose stuff from More, Momentary Lapse and Division Bell as the worst, yet Ummagumma is chosen. :???:

The worst track is probably Dogs of War. Ugh.

Re: The worst one

Righto Tim - Dogs of War is crap.

I think Vera is very beautiful - gives you a sense of that old singer (Vera Lynn).
i just love it.

on the run's not all bad either - some interesting synth work, i'll give it that.
