What were your parents gonna call you.Other than your present name??

What were the other favourite names your parents had for you before deciding on your present one. Or even back up names for if you were the opposite sex than you are now?
If i was a girl then my mum wanted to call me Reagan, after watching the exorcist while she was pregnant with me!
Other boy names were Damien or Jason!
I think my folks had a liking for horror flicks i just realised!

My Dad was gonna name me Jethro, but out of fear of me being picked on continuously, he changed his mind

Nursie: Yeah. Out you popped, out of your mummies pumpkin and everybody shouting : "It's a boy, it's a boy!". And somebody said "but it hasn't got a winkle!". And then I said "A boy without a winkle? God be praised, it is a miracle. A boy without a winkle!" And then Sir Thomas More pointed out that a boy without a winkle is a girl. Anyway, I was really disappointed.

My mum wanted to name me Ryane, my dad was holding out for Mackenzie.

I would have dug Marlo though.

Absolutely no lies here, my parents were seriously considering calling me Zaphod. Personally I would have just introduced myself as Zafe and would have had that cool Z-ness about my name, but thankfully they went in other directions.

Being of Scottish ancestry their final choices were between Hamish, Dougal, Fergus and my actual name. No offense to any of the Hamishes, Dougals or Ferguses out there, but I definitely came out on top in the name department (bear in mind as well that i'm an Aussie and none of those three names are very popular out here). Unfortunately tho my actual name has become flavour of the month I'M NOT UNIQUE ANYMORE!!

My parents didn't name me

I was apparently going to be called Adam until they saw me for the first time. Thankfully my parents elected not to call my sister Eve as well.

I was to be "DeeAnne" if a girl, "Dean" if a boy.

They tossed "Dean" at the last moment because my Dad's boss (very wealthy) had died just a few days before I was born, and Dad wanted to kiss up to his family, so he named me after his dead boss. It worked great, because shortly thereafter, the grieving widow sold dad his dead boss's new Lincoln for practically nothing.

They were considering Jackie and Shyanne. Instead they went with Jennifer. I'm used to it now, but I hate how common it is.

I don't know about me, but my father was to be called "Espiridion" which is the longest ugliest name I've ever heard. Thank god he was named Juan.
