| Re: Ummagumma recording dates Most of the live album is from Manchester College of Commerce from May 2. 1969. But parts of "A Saucerful of Secrets" was recorded at Mothers Club, Birmingham April 27, 1969. They also recorded the concert at Bromley Technical College April 26, 1969, but nothing was used on "Ummagumma". |

| Re: Ummagumma recording dates I'm not sure but I think that there was one song recorded in those dates that was used only in promotional copies or something like that. I don't remember which song was that though. It would have been fine to have a double live album instead of only one and the experimental songs could have been B-Sides or whatever. |

| Re: Ummagumma recording dates I think "Interstellar Overdrive" was supposed to have been excerpted from the third gig, Watered. No recordings of that show are known to exist anymore, unfortunately. |

The extra song WAS Interstellar Overdrive, and the late DJ John Peel got burgled in 1969 and all that was stolen was the acetate of that song. Whether that explains its omission is a matter for conjecture, though |

| Re: Ummagumma recording dates Now, this may be a bit off topic but I'm quite curious about knowing when did they finish playing "Interestellar Overdrive". It seems an odd song to be played without Syd and I certainly can't imagine Gilmour playing it. Is there any ROIO version out there with Gilmour on guitar? |

| Re: Ummagumma recording dates Yup, quite a good recording survives from their 1970 show at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia. |

| Re: Ummagumma recording dates The Electric Factory version of Interstellar Overdrive is the longest I've heard at around twenty minutes long and it's bloody good! Another good version is from the Fillmore in April 1970 which has some cool feedback in it. I've not heard an Interstellar Overdrive I didn't like, though! | Re: Ummagumma recording dates Is it very different Interestellar Overdrive being played by Gilmour or did he mimick Barret's style when playing this song? |

| Re: Ummagumma recording dates Here they are playing it with Frank Zappa on guitar at Amougies, Belgium, 25 October 1969; there's no recording of this, unfortunately. |
