Knopfler's Shangrila is not a fav with me;But I do like DS' s On Every Street.
Alas Dr. Cheese is A Max Of Payne!! Another good one is Travelling Wilbury's Album.

guitar shop is a great album, and has one of the best covers too.
i really like his last 3 albums, its amazing that he just doesn't rest on his laurels, his past, but continues to be creative.
he's my fave guitarist actually.
couldn't get into blow by blow or wired, too jazzy for my tastes.
there and back is my fave lp of his, probably coz it woz the 1st one i heard.
